Special Projects and Master Lists

This forum is for checking in on the progress of large, multi-day projects like a thesis or catching up on tax returns. It's also a good place for master to-do lists, gratitute lists, New Year's resolutions, and other non-daily items.

major projects

Fantastic.  I need a place to put a list exactly lik ethis.  I didn't realize this was here.  I will work more on this later, but right now there are so many things going on in my life that I feel overwhelmed when I think about them.  But then when I actually work on them, I love it and am excited with the results.  Bizarre.

OK so I have 4 big projects going on.  No wonder I'm overwhelmed.  Three are professional and one is personal.  Plus I have ongoing house/garden stuff.

huma's April Challenge

Well, March is over and April is here. Let's make some more improvements! Anyone can join me and state a goal here for the month, and then track your progress as April proceeds. Use whatever rating system you want.

Me? I will be grading myself each day on a five-star scale. In March I averaged 2.74 stars per day, missing my goal of 3.0. I really feel that I can do better, so I'm giving myself an April goal of 3.05 stars per day.

* - Totally wasted my day; pathetic lack of effort

** - A small amount done, but procrastinated too much

ProNagger March 29th - April 2: Word for the Week "Balance"

This is going to be a very full week. I want to see if I can balance life even with all the work I'll be doing.

Goals:

Calls: Enjoy my client calls, listen, make creative suggestion, plan each evening for the next day's calls.

Spin class: twice this week

Sit-up: EVERY morning this work week (new habit, have done 4 out of 5)

Muscle Train: twice this week

Laundry room: 5 minutes each day

WEEKEND..... MADNESS!

I gather I've already got one person signed up for this before I've even started it - hi Helen :)

Hope-Faith, I hope you don't mind that I'm hijacking your awesome idea, but - well, it's awesome!

An explanation for our many new faces :)

Small Steps

As getting ready this am I was fighting off a state of depression. I am in a state of inconsistancy. My routines are falling behind and they are the building blocks to my recovery.  Then reality hit, I was making my bed, hum I was having these negative thoughts taken 10 seconds to make my bed. A year ago it would have taken me all day to get around to making my bed, if it every did get made. Then I realized that as I was having these thoughts I was making my bed. WOW a year ago my.

Strike's Weekly Recap

This is where I will summarize all the tasks I've finished during my week. I often can't recall what I have actually done during my days, and it often feels like I have not been doing anything of importance. In reality I have often done a lot of things (at least that is what I hope to find out!) :D

Lucky master list

One of my tasks for today was to start typing up a master list of all the things I need to get round to! These are all the big ongoing projects I can think of at the moment

eBay stuff
Computer appeal
Post backlog
Mend clothes
Redecorate room

Redecorating is probably going to have to wait until the end of April when there's money.
Clothes mending I can do while watching TV - I'll make a note to bring my sewing kit down tomorrow and start doing that.

Everything else can be attacked over the next 2-3 weekends. Post first, then computer appeal, then eBay.

Weekend Madness 3-21-2010 **** 3/22/2010

Quotes To Motivate

Lucky cold turkey

I've been thinking a LOT about what it means to 'quit' procrastination. This means thinking a lot about what procrastination is - and what it's not.

Taking a break is not procrastination.

Changing my plans is not procrastination.

Not completing my tasklist is not procrastination.

Not following a rigid schedule is not procrastination.

Surfing the internet (or any other 'non-productive' activity) is not procrastination. Can be, but doesn't have to be.

Jobseeking Project

OK This is my biggest area of procrastination. I feel upset when I think about it. I fing the whole thing really stressful. I have taken a few steps but I really need to be consistent about this even though I am out of my comfort zone.

I resolve to take one action  a day towards getting work.

Helen's Decorating Project

I am decorating my living room and still stuck on clearing out the stuff so I can get to the walls.

I have chosen a paint colour but I am now really procrastinating.

I will start by clearing cleaning, undercoating and 'taping up ' one wall next week.

March 31 Day Challenge

This is an idea for myself, but anyone else is welcome to jump on board and join the thread with their own twist on this. Cool

I'm going to do daily check-ins, and I thought it would be a a good idea to also look at my month as a whole. So, I'm going to give myself stars for each day, as follows:

***** A perfect day, hit and exceeded goals

**** Very good day, hit majority of goals, worked hard
