Special Projects and Master Lists

This forum is for checking in on the progress of large, multi-day projects like a thesis or catching up on tax returns. It's also a good place for master to-do lists, gratitute lists, New Year's resolutions, and other non-daily items.

Sarito Declutter Project Spring 2011

Brainstorming for Declutter Project

Areas: magazines (home files & table), piles of paper in libraries, mail; clothes; kitchen pantry; gr notes; v books & loose papers; bathroom/beauty products, linens.

Needed Supplies: label maker; non-slip clothes hangers; 2 flexible binders

Double Check: binder dividers (dig around to see if I need more); file folders?

Internet fast

Web-surfing is a major part of my procrastination. I feel like for me it's not something that I can manage in moderation, and am wondering if maybe giving up *all* non-work-related surfing would be easier for me.

So, I figure I'll try it out. A 30-day trial seems too hard, so I'm going to try a week to start.

Sending in an Application and writing a cover letter

I am going to finish my cover letter by 4:30pm tomorrow.

I am going to complete my application by 5:00pm tomorrow.

I am going to send in my application once I complete it.

Learning a new skill

Hello.

I am on a vacation right now.  My friend and I were talking about the things we would like to do in our lives... For so long, I have told myself I am a fake and a liar and someone who doesn't really want to do things, because I haven't been able to get up the motivation to do them...

When I was talking to my friend, I realized that there are certain dreams and aspirations of mine that I have literally been waiting YEARS to begin. And at times when I do take small steps towards them, they are SUCH small steps, which is okay, except then I stop.

little by little

I'm working on a research project, and have lost momentum.   I've had it in the past, but largely in concentrated bursts.

One of my largest chronic anxieties is that my 'un-done' becomes 'too-late,' which leads me to create protective walls around what needs my attention most.  Since I keep enacting this pattern,  I'm hoping to shift this.

Bookend here.

I need a place to bookend. Somehow I thought the daily check in explaination was a bookend and it worked. No long lists, just some simple bookend items here.

pains of a year and gains of lifetime

there is nothing encouraging about my physics, chem, and biology books except the rewards of my success and retribution of my failures.

i will lose all my respest if i fail to clear medical entrance exams 2011.and i will get my family backk and my respest back if i do it. this fact should be motivating enough but unfortunately it is not.

so i will record all my progresses and retardations here.and hope that this will motivate me.

Mission: thesis proposal

I have my qualifying exam on Sept. 20. (This is a big exam that determines whether I leave grad school with a masters or get to stay for Ph.D.)

Before this, I need to write my thesis proposal and to study for my qualifying exam.

Goal: by Aug. 20 I'll have thesis proposal written.

By Sept. 20 I'll have finished studying.

The trouble I have got myself into..

About a month ago I experienced my first manic attack in years. It can make things hard, especially when it makes me prone to errors or worse. Even despite my efforts to do well in a class this led to a horrible performance on a test, which cost me a passing grade, as a result I had to drop the class. This really hurt my confidence and ability to perform.

old job / new job

I thought I'd make this a special project, because otherwise I think I'll be in trouble.

I need a work-buddy.

Hey, vali here.

I'm a student & I live in Mumbai, India.

I've been thinking about this for a while and I'd like to have a work-buddy. You know, I keep a tab on how your keeping up and you do the same for me.

I really procrastinate about coming online, partly because some things that i read/see really get my spirits down, apart from other stuff.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate anyone coming forward.

We can stay in touch via e-mail, and if you're from Mumbai and it's ok with you, via msgs.

Week Goals

(1) Talk with employment center about job.
(2) Exercise daily.
(3) Journal daily.
(4) Read my books.
(5) Talk with Bible counselor.

Hopefully, I'll actually follow through this time. At the least I will post daily about how I'm doing.
