Mission: thesis proposal
I have my qualifying exam on Sept. 20. (This is a big exam that determines whether I leave grad school with a masters or get to stay for Ph.D.)
Before this, I need to write my thesis proposal and to study for my qualifying exam.
Goal: by Aug. 20 I'll have thesis proposal written.
By Sept. 20 I'll have finished studying.
I'm going to come up with a detailed plan this week, but for now I'm going to commit to 4 hours of logged, focused work on thesis proposal until it's done. (I'm going to aim for 4 hrs, 6 days a week; but if I can do 4 days a week that's a success.)

proposal update
Thanks to everyone who's been helping me out with this in the chatbox!
I've a little behind on this, but not bad. I have a good draft of the proposal...my advisor still wants some changes on this so I have more writing to do, but the end is in site.
And I've been working reasonably hard on studying and think that will be ok. I have a study plan, at least...
Less than a month to go! Couldn't do it without you guys.
pa thesis
we've had a ton of procrastinators come here when they're behind on their thesis.
to my knowledge, this is the first time a procrastinator is going to *start* their thesis with the support of PA, and presumably with the support of pa thruout.
i feel it's like when a commet comes by close to earth. It happens so rarely we want to study it and get as much info as we can from it so that others can learn from it.
wish you well kromer!
