Sucking up my pride and maybe getting help

Hello to anyone reading,

Hi

Ranting thread

This is the thread for when you're down and just want to let it all out. Sometimes it's nice to just write out your dissapointment with yourself, so you can put it behind you and get back up on the horse!

It's not easy changing a habit that has been with us for many years, so of course there will be bumps on the road. But even though we know that, it's easy to get back into the bad circle of procrastination->self loathing -> even more procrastination and so on.

Rant

Today I mismanaged my time, like I usually do, and ended up costing my team in my class some points. I was responsible for submitting this thing that I submitted two hours late. It is now 2:50, my statistics homework isn't done, I have two assignments that haven't been completed due tomorrow, and to catcu up, I will, again, have to skip my accounting class. I won't be docked points, because clickers are on wednesday, but I am going to fall even further behind.

Falcon is back! Hi, everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'm back after being away a long time!  I've had some changes in my life.  The biggest is that I reached one of my major goals, which was to find a sweetheart.  Laughing  I met her over a year and half ago, and we've been going steady for a little over a year now.

So tired... so over it... <sigh>

Here I am once again, tired and hopelessly entangled by this self-sabotaging habit. Cry

Do y'all ever find yourselves asking what the hell's your problem, because I sure find myself asking that lately. Then again, in the past, I've asked myself that and I still haven't found an answer. That probably explains why I'm still procrastinating.

Negative Self Talk

Does anyone else suffer from negative self talk when getting down to doing tasks?

Lately I have been so behind and can't seem to get out of my funk. Every time I go to do something a little voice keeps saying "You can't do this, you are dumb" or "This is impossible. You can't do this."

I know this is horribly counter productive but I seem to have many stucknesses lately.

What are your tips and tricks for combating these thoughts?

Baby steps

Hi everyone.

I'm 20 years old and from Denmark.

As long as I can remember I been procrastinating, waiting until the very last minute to get stuff done and then regretting deeply that I didn't start preparing earlier. I'm sure you all know the drill.

Refuse to lose

Hello!

Time out and not thinking

Time out and not thinking

Taking advice so kindly given by movingalong on Thursday last, 27 October, I took some time out today. I had thought of a retreat for a week sometime next year but I needed something more immediate and as there was nowhere I could think of going for the day or even half the day I stayed home. It was surprisingly easy not to be distracted and this morning I spent 2-3 hours relaxed and not trying to work things out but surrendering and letting guidance come to me.

What I received was:

I was voted "Biggest Procrastinator" by my high school's graduating class...

I have looked at PA once or twice in the course of late night
procrastination, and here I am again, avoiding the things I ought to be
doing--I know that say you shouldn't say "I should, or have to do this"
but I'm having a hard time changing my mindset.  Of course, I want to do
things properly and on time.  I want others to be able to depend on me
and not think of me as a flake.  I've been procrastinating for a long,
long time. I can't remember not procrastinating. Probably when I was a

Hello

Hello, my name is Adrian and I'm a Procrastinator.

[here endeth the cheese]

I'm at university at the moment and working (yeah, right!) towards my PhD. I have a dangerous habit of procrastination, which restricts itself mostly to my computer activity. I play computer games, look up picture blogs, webcomics, social networks, the lot. So much so that I'm not interested in doing any work on my computer, because I don't actually like sitting on a computer all day long - I'd much rather be out and about.

Things I have learned, and things I will hopefully remember...

So I came to this forum, because I was desperately trying to find a way out of procrastinating on my bachelor thesis. The good news is, that I have finished the thesis (3 months late) and though I am not out of all the trouble that got me into, I delivered just on time that will not make the next steps impossible.

Things I have learned:

Hey everyone.

Just a little introduction to say hello. :-)

Introduction

Hi to all. I'm new here, and I have to thank the administrator of the site for accepting me.

Wingartist39's Introduction

Hello!

I'm new here, and I just heard about this website last summer while reading "Procrastination." Right now, I am working my way thorugh senior year at high school, preparing my applications, ACT Tests, personal statement, and getting a high GPA for college next year. But, like everyone else, I am a chronic procrastinator.

avoiding things you ENJOY

Why do I procrastinate doing things I enjoy?

It makes no logical sense.

I even sometimes do things I don't want to do, to avoid doing things that I DO want to do.

I know that sounds like the opposite of procrastination, but it feels just as horrible.

I procrastinate doing things that other people consider to be procrastination.

No work ethic anymore

Hey guys! If you've noticed me posting and then not posting again, that is me struggling.

how to get a sponsor that has already worked the 12 steps

Hi.

I really would like to start working the 12 steps, but I have no one to guide me through it.

Is there anyone who has already worked the steps

and who is willing to help me?

I'm desperate, and I know that working the steps is the right way of making it with this program.

Thank you so much.
