I just got to show up the next couple of days!! Don't try to lose the battle before it starts!
ok I'm on chatboox this afternoon - day off sick, slept in big time, meditation, rang mum and g'ma. paid registration & flight. about 1hour pfaffing. now down to the victory winning stuff ... just do the questions. That's all, don't agonise about the result, just concentrate on walking one foot in front of the other.
Thanks for your company and examples and honesty and reflections along the way! Solidarity!
Please do not leave advice or feedback. Thank you. Prayers welcome.
I was previously doing this on 43things. I may flesh out this post later, when I get home, but I wanted to make this commitment, while I was not H.A.L.T. I just heard something insane that we aren't sick days, but that's a tail for another post. I just want to commit for myself to 21 days of exercise. I would pick a different number of days, but I want it to be long enough that I can actually make some measurable progress, and yet, short enough that it's something I've done before. The commitment is 30 minutes of exercise before 12am, in one of the following formats:
*biking
*swimming
* running
* walking
* dance
* fitness class
* martial arts class
(or a combination thereof)
My topline behavior is to do 30 minutes worth of the running plan each work day and 1 hour of the running plan on non-workdays. On rest days in my running plan, I *can* do other cross-training that is not walking or running related. The idea is to keep the rest day intact, while still doing some form of mild exercise. The emphasis is on *can*, meaning allowed to. But the commitment is just 30 minutes of some form of exercise as listed above.
Well, Day 1 was successful. On to day 2. Going to make sure to do what I need to do in order to make jogging a priority: water, food (maybe), getting changed.
Please do not leave advice or feedback. Thank you. Prayers welcome.
So yeah, I reckon, it's really important to me to go to at least one of my program meetings each week. Like for instance. Last Friday I went to a meeting in my SLAA program, but I did not get to do the PA meeting, and that was well, frankly shitty. I don't want to do that again. It just feels icky, but so did everything else that happened on Sunday, b/c Saturday was an eight hour train ride, which is fine. Anyways, ideally I'd like to attend three of my program meetings per week. I'm in PA, OSPA, SLAA, Coda, and others. But those are the major ones. The bottomline behavior would be to do at least one meeting Sunday through Saturday. And I want to at least stick with that so I have some connection to my twelve step identity and recovery.
Something I picked up from my last meeting (an excerpt from the AA 12 & 12 Step 10):
"Nothing pays off like restraint of tongue and pen."
Please do not leave advice or feedback. Thank you. Prayers welcome.

I'm about to shell out $700 for flights for this exam and accommodation unlikely to be less than $600 plus 've already paid $1K to sit.... So, lets get this friggin OVER WITH!!!!
Just do the questions. That's all. Be mindful.
Just done a big shop of healthy frozen food (I've found two awesome brands - doesn't taste like frozen food; or look like it!. No excuse to leave the house except for work next 4 days. No TV. Minimal sleep - no more than 6 hours. Just do the Q's.
Want to do a little work as I didn't get much done yesterday or thurs . Would also like to get a little done on one of my side projects. That would be great.
Is just a glimmer.... struggling today. Again. Finished nights yesterday morning so was zombie all day, exhausted slept in until 11!!! And now is almost 5pm and I'm just wandering around like a haunted man. Thanks for the gorgeous new dawn picture!!
I'm going to do some stretching exercises to some inspiring music then the set up past q's at dining room table.

It was a bit of a slog, including a complete brain failure moment, but I got it done. Well done me. Crossing a lot of rubicons at the moment. And it's tiring but I can do it. It teaches me that no matter how anxious I am, or how hard something looks - I can deal with it.
Did an insufficient amount of cleaning/decluttering/organising yesterday, find the mess too overwhelming and not enough storage of any description, still, after all these years with the same problem: you'd think I'd have the hang of it by now!
walk dogs: 1/2 hour
have a shower, get dressed etc: 1/2 hour
tidy up kitchen: 20mins
straighten out hallway, including hoover/mop floor: 1/2 hour
bring charity shop donation to car with view to dropping off at charity shop.
drive to 1pm appointment/service. 1.5hrs
home via suitable charity shop ditching unwanted clutter.
home at circa 3pm: food.
tackle living room in phases: declutter/put away/clean x 2 or possibly x 3.
6.30 pm: pick up travel cot.
7.30 pm: go to meeting.
hang out with friends post-meeting.
walk dogs.
write next day's to do list.
sleep.
Also keep track of activities using time-log sheet. And at some point make important phone calls...
Well I've been very off-plan today, and not done ANY cleaning, not even loading the dishwasher... and now I'm being self-indulgent and watching tv with my feet up! Yet I still have to get the place ready for my friends' visit tomorrow...

Once more fell off the wagon of procrastination, and have to climb back on again. In fairness, I have had a really troubled summer, so I totally forgive myself for not being on top of things. But, it's a new month, and I'd really LIKE to get back into some sort of healthy routine with check-ins etc.
It's already 6pm here in the UK, so,
declutter /clean living room in 15minute increments, use the chat room, until
8.30pm, head to meeting
getting home circa 10.30, get ready for bed

Hazyjane CI Tuesday 2nd Sept
Did an insufficient amount of cleaning/decluttering/organising yesterday, find the mess too overwhelming and not enough storage of any description, still, after all these years with the same problem: you'd think I'd have the hang of it by now!
walk dogs: 1/2 houret dressed etc: 1/2 hourbring charity shop donation to car with view to dropping off at charity shop.drive to 1pm appointment/service. 1.5hrshome via suitable charity shop ditching unwanted clutter.6.30 pm: pick up travel cot.7.30 pm: go to meeting.Also keep track of activities using time-log sheet. And at some point make important phone calls...
Well I've been very off-plan today, and not done ANY cleaning, not even loading the dishwasher... and now I'm being self-indulgent and watching tv with my feet up! Yet I still have to get the place ready for my friends' visit tomorrow...

Hazyjane check-in Monday 1st September
Once more fell off the wagon of procrastination, and have to climb back on again. In fairness, I have had a really troubled summer, so I totally forgive myself for not being on top of things. But, it's a new month, and I'd really LIKE to get back into some sort of healthy routine with check-ins etc.
It's already 6pm here in the UK, so,
ok, off to chat room now armed with a timer :)
