Is it Timed (set a timer)? Is it a Task? If it's a sudden impulse, can I act on it Tomorrow?
3 days off after long run of shifts - and lots on my plate with looking for houses etc - I think ivefound a super cute little flat for me - Hopefully all my hard work w applications last 2 weeks give me headscarf. Big day of looking and house stuff tmr Inc. inspection and call banks.
Feeling panicky w all these decisions and floating off onto tangents. I will choose to only think of the now and not catastroph-ise or fantasise the future.
Big aims:
To do exercise and run this evening.

I went to my first in-person caregiver support group meeting this week and learned that everyone has trouble keeping up with home caregiving, so that relieved me alot. Even though I have many overdue tasks, I know that this week, the cause was not my procrastination! J is a bit better today so I may be able to get a few more of these items done, yay God!
- online research at health exchanges
- final decision and action on the decision!
- post office
- hardware store
- groc/pharm store
- banking
It would also be nice if I got to dust and vaccuum, sweep the porch and front sidewalk, spend 20 minutes reading and spend 30 minutes writing. But if I don't get to those today, I'll be ok! Caregiving as a fulltime gig is really harder work than I ever imagined.
So sad for you re: Dandelion. May her transition be smooth and may your sorrow be comforted by happy memories. Precious that you've been her person for almost 2 decades. What a gift.
Thank you for your kind support. Dandelion is in heaven now.I held her this morning and played comforting you tube songs. She had a weak purr. She knew she was loved. The sunrise this morning had a ray of light and I knew it was a sign that the way was being open for her. Attached is one of this morning's photos. She will always be in our hearts.
(PS Grateful I could "show up" for her - thanks pa)
My thoughts are with you Vic - "pets are not our whole lives but they make our lives whole." - I didn't understand this until I lost my first and only pet dog 5 years ago - still miss her!

So an update since I was last here - I found out I only failed by 1 point!! I was actually really happy about that because I thought I had bombed and was so anxious I almost didn't say anything for the first 5mns!! So the questions I actually opened my mouth and calmed down for, I did really well. So there is a lot of confidence going into the re-sit.
So as far as my recovery period:
- concentrated on sleep and healthy food! Feel better already and caught up on my sleep-debt.
- my next healthy aim is to build in the habit of exercise... tonight a swim.
As for other life stuff:
- been good w money
- been procrastinating on home loan applications. Partly due to busyness but mostly due to fear of making a big decision if I'm honest. I'm reminding myself that this is just pre-approval IF the right property comes on the market, if not, renting again is still a good option and moving is just a good chance for culling stuff!!
My big aims today so will be in chat room...

made some good progress and made sure to congratulate myself. Just realized I sat down at the computer to start searching the web aimlessly. I think it must be due to the fact that my next task is not well enough defined...this is, I have realized, a MAJOR contributor to my procrastination.
I will now take about 5 minutes to do some mindfulness meditation and then take 5-10 minutes to clearly define my next task.
