Miscellaneous Stuff

Please post messages that aren't directly related to procrastination or time management in this forum.

Please contribute to PA! and a big thank you to PRO

As you make your budget for June, please remember to include a few bucks or euros for the PA site.  Pro does a LOT of work on this site for free, but there are also fees to be paid for web hosting, domain names, and software maintenance.   Pro is unable to pay these fees for us, so please remember to contribute and keep the site alive!

Wow Lots of new members!

Welcome!  If you find this site helpful, please remember to contribute towards the cost of supporting the site!

I know money is tight these days, but even a small contribution helps!

New Baby Boy is here!!

Born Wednesday night, 9.5 lbs! Very healthy and a sweet disposition.  Here is his to-do list:

 x1. Sleep
 x2. Cry (just a little!)
 x3. Nurse
 x4. Look around
 x5. Dirty Diaper
 x6. Repeat Steps 1 to 6

He did procrastinate being born several days, but now he's all caught up!

We're very grateful to HP for him and his big sister, who's been great with him!

hope4meandu's journal

Friday, February 19, 2010
I just needed to unload stuff in my head & didn't want to bore anyone with my numerous dramas & fears...so I figured I will dump here in my newly created Journal!!! There is some crazy things in my head that I need to get out completely, so read at your own risk...and not on an empty stomach or on a full one either - LOL!!

Write the check to 's sn todya at 1:30 Do It NOw Feb 18

there I put myself on theline to a lot of people.

Hope4meandu sharing my gratitude to you all & this group about today.

Wanted to send gratitude to you all and this group for all the good that came out of today and I'll try really hard to keep it short.

The interview went well, they wanted me for a position that I would have loved but the scheduling didn't work out, so I agreed to take another position, if that works out.

Actually my office manager called me (I called in a vacation day yesterday & today), & left a bad but mostly good message, so I was expecting to say I'm giving 2 weeks notice, I can no longer handle this position and am failing at it (which is true) and her accepting this.

I just read a statement .......

I just read an article that talked
about getting things done.  It was in German so I
hope I am using the correct translation.

At the beginning it said.  Every time I think:

Problem Solved: Tech question: Anyone here who knows about MS Office apps?

I did end up uninstalling again. Then I reinstalled, and I made a backup copy of the help file in case it vanishes again.

I'm having a problem and I know some people here are in software fields. Hoping someone can help.

'Man Gets Life In Order For 36 Minutes'

Just found this satirical article in The Onion and thought this was one piece of humour we could all appreciate :) Copying and pasting to avoid sending anyone on a link-clicking spree...

Man Gets Life In Order For 36 Minutes

Terry Oberlin washes the dishes 39 minutes and 22 seconds before things spiral out of control again.

Gentle Reminder for 2010

Happy New Year!  As you are planning your budget for this year, please remember to include a few bucks for PA.

PRO does a lot of work maintaining the site and providing all the great content that you see here and we appreciate it so much.   What you don't see is that there are fees involved in maintaining the software, hosting the web site, and buying the domain name.   Please help pay those fees and keep the site going!   Even a small donation helps!

Redefining Success

When Vic posted the 4shared.com site the other day, i checked it out and found a lot of self help stuff out there.   I'm not sure this site is entirely legal, but anyway I did download a few things.  One thing I found was a lecture from Tony Robbins about redefining success and failure and it really resonated with me so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Here's a summary of what he said:

Gentle Reminder for December - Yearly fees are due!

It's time to renew our domain name and pay the yearly fees for hosting of the web site.   Please send in your contribution!

The site provides great value to each of us, so if you can send 5 or 10 bucks, it would be greatly appreciated. Every bit helps, so even if you can only send one dollar or one euro, send it in!  A lot of small donations can add up to a large amount.

Please help us keep the site alive!

And big hugs to Pro who donates many hours a week to our cause, providing excellent content and maintaining the web site.

Need suggestions for reviewing Excel

I am looking for a good way to review Excel 2007: I was never very good at Excel and have not used it since the early 90's. I want to get my skills better so I know what I know and what I don't know. I have a prospective job that I am a likely candidate, but I must know Excel well. Any suggestions for a training tool? I want to start today if I can.

ADHD or just ADD

Been awhile since I have logged on, I have been struggling with my procrastination...depression...anxiety... .  My son has been diagnosed with ADHD, and in doing all the research, I have come to the conclusion that I, also, have ADHD.  I have been trying to figure out WHY I have procrastination, WHY I am depressed, WHY I have anxiety, something had to have started all these things, something pretty fundamental....turns out that ADHD is a neurological disorder, it is genetic, passed down through generations and NOT MY FAULT.

Spirit wants to conquer Frustration-can anyone give insight

I am now in a place where i am working my lists which is great but sometimes like today 9/11 I feel like I'm spinning my wheels.  When I am doing all that I am supposed to showing up, prepared, taking the actions and get stalled I feel like I am going to explode.  I don't know if this is a blood pressure spike, I know it is anxiety but I would like to be more calm because I think better and I get more done when I relaxed.

Gentle Reminder for November

Welcome to all the new folks!  I hope the site helps you as much as it has helped me.

Please contribute towards the cost of hosting and maintaining the web site, if you can.     There is a link on the top left to contribute through Paypal.  Even a small donation helps, so please send a little financial love our way.

And a great big thank you to Pro for setting up and maintaining the web site for us, and posting all the helpful articles.

Gentle Reminder for July

Please remember to contribute.  Even a small amount helps.  Pro does a great job of creating and maintaining the web site (thanks Pro!), so please contribute what you can to go toward the cost of hosting the site.  This site is SO important to our recovery, so send a little financial love to the site!

In the Face of Confrontation

Living Flexibly

Relaxing in the face of confrontation,
not restricted to a goal,
or proving a point,
but open to all possibility,

Bowing to the wind of the storms of life,
holding sway in trusting harmony,
as flexible as a palm tree,
without rigid pomposity
in beckoning Tao energy,

Facing Fear

Be Larger

In this dark hour,
golden forces muster
to greet all semblance of fear,

to cast spiritual light upon the darkness
and make discord disappear,

sweet dear,
such is the mighty power
within your heart-felt prayer,

as we become comrades
in the common endeavor
of allegiance to life,

through whatever strife
the world may deliver,
