Self-Employment Telesummit: Transforming Under-earning into the Creation of Meaningful Wealth

This is a *free* telesummit. I just learned of it and am posting it on the PA website because, while under-earning is certainly distinct from procrastination, it seems that many self-employed people may have difficulties with procrastination and that under-earning may be a common situation among us. I am familiar with several of the presenters, who I think are terrific. So I thought this might be a helpful resource for folks.

EMPTY to-be-filed box aka THE PILE.

4 years ago when I joined this fellowship, the pile was over a foot tall.  For the past 18 months or so it's been hovering around 1/2 inch and finally it is empty!   I will endeavor to keep it this way.

(((((PA))))) A big hug to all of you and thanks for being here.

Needed: buddy for showing up to work & life

With this site, thankfully, I have seen progress. But/And the day will always come when I will not want to leave the house for any reason, other than it burning down, heaven forbid.

That is why I need someone to check in with and visa versa every day, every week day, etc. who suffers as I do or similar so we can buddy up and help each other.

My friend and I are doing this now, but she will return home to another country soon (I'm in U.S.) and I will miss her, but that's a fact.

Please contribute to PA!

Good morning to PA members old and new! If this site has helped you to be more productive, please
consider making a donation. Pro does an awesome job of keeping the site up and running, spam-free,
and up to date. Unfortunately, this is NOT FREE. There are costs associated with web site hosting,
domain names, and software maintenance. If the site is going to continue to be available for us, we
need to support it financially.

If you can make a large contribution that's awesome, but even a small contribution from each member would go far.

Someone plz help. They think I'm crazy.

The guidance counselor called today and told my mom I'm in danger if not graduating high school. My counselor can't understand why I'm getting almost all Fs and Ds when before I was a pretty average A and B student. I'm going to the doctor tommorrow so they can decide whether I'm depressed or crazy. My moms convinced to do what the doctor says, even if it means being put on anti-depressants. How do I explain to the doctor I'm a chronic procrastinator when chronic procrastination isn't even recognized as a disease?

Please contribute to PA

Please add a monthly contribution to PA to your budget this year!   There are fees associated with the domain name, web hosting, etc.   PRO contributes MANY HOURS a week to this site keeping it maintained, spam-free, running smoothly, and available 24x7.  Please help out by contributing a few dollars, quid, or euros on a monthly basis so that we can keep the site up.

I'd be lost without this site, so I'm willing to spend a few dollars a month to keep it running.  What about you??

Its the year end and I am ready for my year end shopping.  On my wish list is a new laptop. I thought I would ask the opinion of fellow PA members. Which laptop are you planning to buy this year ? Which one would be a good buy ?

Gentle Reminder - Please contribute!

Pro just paid the yearly fees for the site - please contribute to help offset that expense!  Thanks!

Disappointments, frustrations, and procrastination

Well, today is Thanksgiving.  I fear my thoughts have not been very thankfully oriented.

This morning I got up for the 7:30 phone bridge, but no one was there.  I guess I had misunderstood what had been said.  I thought they said it would meet, but evidently they said it would not meet.  Disappointment.

First post was hard

I've been a member for a while, but I couldn't get around to making a post here heh.

Anyway hello to everyone, wish me luck on finishing my thesis to get my mechanical engineering degree, even if I am 10 years late already.

Here's my motto

-The good thing about being is a procrastinator is that even if you contemplate suicide, you always put it off indefinitely.

A conflict of mind and heart...

I was in a bad mood yesterday, and my body was paining & head was heavy and hurting.

Cause: Well, the problem is at work. I'm in the IT industry(in India). I don't like what I'm doing. I've just started out, about 3 months back. Everyone says I'm lucky to have a job when most of my classmates are looking for one or have landed one with a lower pay. It's not the best company, but it's not a bad company. Well recognized too.

Online Productivity Sites

http://www.joesgoals.com/  is a good one that I use during the day. You can check off tasks as you do them and give them numerical weights. You can set them up in a prticular order or re order them.

Gentle Reminder for the Fall

Greetings everyone!   As the leaves fall from the trees, please let a few dollars, coins, or Euros fall from your pocket into the PA coffers.   OK, that's pretty corny but there are costs involved in creating and maintaining this web site.   Pro does many many hours of work on this site and also pays the web hosting fees and domain name fees.   Please contribute what you can to the costs and keep the site alive.   I know this site helps me a lot and I want to keep it going forever, and I hope you do too!

Website for those working on dissertation/thesis

I was reading a couple of posts by people working on dissertations/theses and wanted to offer this website as a possible resource: http://www.phinished.org/

Soul Searching (God & Faith to help get things done)

I am not sure if this should reside in the Misc. forum but will leave it here for now as I do not want to distract others.

In addition to a life long problem with procrastination I find myself in midlife with a not uncommon reassessment of self. I won't go into detail here as this not the appropriate venue. However as this searching journey relates to procrastination I do want to share some ________ (fill the blank) if not other reason than to get them out of my head. My theme will be Christian based and what I am receiving and striving to give as well.

OK enough intro.

Micro-Burst Buddies

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say I've heard from others that the live phone meetings for CLA are very helpful - where they talk for a few minutes, then all go work for 15 minutes, then check back in, and so on. I can't usually make it to the phone meetings on time.

Phones - The Bane of my Existence

I wonder if anyone else has the same problem I do. I procrastinate greatly from any telephone calls. I even panic whenever I hear the phone ring and my stomach twists up. I have to take deep breaths if I have to make a call. And If there is no deadline to when this call must be made, I just keep on delaying it until it is embarrisingly late and I'm too embarrassed to call. It is becoming a real problem. What can I do?

So confused about how to use the site... :(

Hi everyone,

Who knows if this will be seen by anyone... I'm not sure where people actually go to talk to one another. So, I figured I'd just start a forum topic and see if anyone answers.

I'm working on a paper for school, which is the final paper required to wrap up the last of my incomplete courses. I had to take this past semester off because my procrastination was so out of control that I couldn't finish my classes the previous semester, and it's taken me 6 months to finally wrap up 2 of them, and the last one still has this last paper outstanding.
