Wednesday check-in

Howdy folks,

So I missed my morning run again this morning... I was sick recently for a fortnight (yuk) and since I got better I have failed to get back into my morning exercise.. and I'm feeling it... I need to make the effort to get up that hour earlier and hit the track...

In other matters, I'm realizing that my main challenge in overcoming procrastination - at work at least - isn't so much getting through a checklist of things 'to do' as it is avoiding time wasting... I'm thinking, for this reason, that I should give myself a 'grade' each day at the end of the working day, to assess my level of focus and keep myself accountable...

Today's to-do's:

9am: FAA meeting

10am-6pm: No time-wasting at work

7pm: Meditation meeting

8.30pm: Grocery shopping

9.30pm: 30 Minutes to recovery forums

Hope you're all having a great day!

KF check in 11:30 am Weds 2nd April

This is what I wrote in chat just now:

Just start somewhere, anywhere and stop being so harsh to yourself all the time. It is not OK to keep comparing yourself to this ideal, that person, that externally driven idea of what is acceptable. Live your life and do your work. That is the only thing you can do. Endless berating of yourself will not help you. You must forgive yourself and let it go. You are good enough.

I am good enough.

I am capable. I am a good person, even if I did no work at all. But I choose to do some.

Today I have already:

  • Had breakfast
  • Had a shower
  • Put washing on
  • Put soup on
  • did some washing up
Today I will:
  • Do SD work 7 poms done 5/7

Quote for 1st April

Quote for 1st April:

"The great benefit of the wise fool's antics and observations is that hey stimulate our thinking. They jolt us in the same way that a splash of cold water awakens us when we are drowsy.

Question: Where has "thinking like a wise fool" helped you look at a problem in a helpful way?"

-- Roger von Oech

Thanks to Vic for the image and message!

"May the Blessings of each day be the Blessings you need Most."
-- Irish Saying

In honor of the fact that
this March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) thread
is continuing onwards into April ...
May we receive the blessings we need
instead of what we *think* we need.

Think outside the box!

Thank you to Vic for this image, too!

Another day at a time...

Today is a very 'demand resistance' day - negative connotations to the things I need to do:

I want to do 40mins study with 20mins do another job I want to do

Study:

Anatomy
Elbow

axilla/scap

Wrist
Upper arm

4x toxicology cards

Desirable jobs:

Washing off line

Make bed

Transfer money

Check car balance

I FOUND OUT THAT I MADE MY LAST CAR PAYMENT SO OWN IT NOW!!!!

Then got depressed as don't have many savings but then realised that payroll owes me LOTS of money (al legal chasing) so part of that's not really my fault but a reminder to be wise in the future.

Due to the current technical glitch  ... in addition to not being able to start any new threads ... We cannot edit the existing thread-starters either.

But we can *reply* to any previously-existing threads.

And we *can* edit our own replies to threads (as long as our replies haven't received replies).

Therefore, since we cannot change the current thread-starter at this time, or start a new one ... anyone could instead *occasionally* intersperse inspirational quotes and/or pictures amongst the check-in posts on this long ongoing thread.

This will be "good enough" until the forum is repaired.

Some inspirational quotes for the week or month

Little by little, through our constant efforts, we discover a different kind of life

Beneficial habits begin to replace ones that once brought us misery.

One Day at a Time -- I will make an extra effort to be patient and gentle with myself and others when I am feeling irritable and frustrated.

Just because I am *in* pain doesn't mean I have to *be* a pain.

No blame, no shame.

We can laugh and see the lighter side of situations.

We value ourselves and believe we have something to give the world.

I will have faith that I can thrive through anything -- when I do it one moment at a time.

(These quotes are all from the literature of "Chronic Pain Anonymous", a 12-step fellowship for those with chronic pain and chronic illness) (Yet the quotes seem relevant to anyone and everyone!)
