Small one as am going to a client meeting at 10am, but have a few things I'd like to get done beforehand.

Today I have already:

 

  • Eaten a good breakfast
  • Planned my travel for today
  • Put DW on
Today I will:
  • Have a shower & dry hair
  • Put bins out missed them, but still need to put stuff outside
  • Print pattern again in one page
  • Do a couple of poms of A work did just the holiday so OK
  • LEAVE ON TIME 10am
  • Try and make the time after the meeting to visit the exhibition
  • HAVE DINNER
  • Go to early choir
  • Smile because this is the transition between the seasons and anything and everything can change.

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self.

7:50am : It's been 9hrs 50min since i last went off plan.
It's been 5days 10hrs 33min since i last relied on self.
I am doing well and tempted to rely on self. I am reading "15 points for a self-oholic to consider when confronted with the urge to rely on self and not God" (translated by me). Some excerpts that hit me:

If you are convinced that everything of meaning depends on you relying on God, you have just so much more chance of putting your trust in God and continuing to rely on God each day. If you put other things first you are only hurting your chances.

11. Catalogue and re-catalogue the positive enjoyments of relying on God, such as:

a. The simple ability to eat and sleep normally, and wake up glad you are alive; glad you lived in connection with God yesterday, and glad you have the privilege of living in connection with God today.

13. Cultivate gratitude:

e. Gratitude that since others have done it, you can in time bring it to pass that you will not want or miss the relying on self you are abandoning.

Thanks for the lovely starter Movingalong, you know it was you I was thinking of as I signed in :)

Anyway, I've been letting myself get too 'busy' and at the same time...quelle surprise...not terribly productive. But, it's ok. I can live with myself!

  • start the day right: with a healthy smoothie
  • walk the dogs
  • sort out some kind of plan for the 2.5hrs of cleaning my friend is going to do
  • get to a meeting
  • get to daughter's academic review
  • meet friend for theatre matinee :D :D
  • get to acting class, last one :((
  • maybe, just maybe, write a little bit more 'finishing touches'-style to that essay...
  • and probably another twenty other things that are do-able but too time-consuming to write about now (past bed-time...unmanageable!!!)

What a beautiful thread-starter, movingalong.  I am glorying in the autumn here, and not regretting one iota the passing of the hot windy, fiery, leaching, bleaching summer. Autumn - a time for gathering one's energies and focussing.

i am VERY late with my check in,

so have done cafe and journal and am now on a writing pom break. Not at all a good idea as I will go over my 5 mins, aaaargh my procrastinating fingers. At least this is not a sudoku.
