riddled's Tuesday ToDos

  • check what is due tomorrow
  • BPD decluttering / filing
  • get X+H running (I lost several hours and lots of nerves until I got it configured right :-(  )
  • BPD finish project
  • daily report entry
  • install D
  • finish U
  • make GP from U
  • save & file all that properly
  • start ID project
  • learn S
  • household: take out trash, do dishes, make tea, eat, and nothing else if it can wait.

Conclusions:

Time spent working:
Using pomodoros today: 25min * 12 (and then some)

Things I did well today:

  • I worked for many hours.
  • The stress made me eat less instead of more.

Things I could have done better:

Two things shouldn't have happened, but I don't really know how, on that day and in that situation, I could have prevented them:

  • I lost a lot of time with some computer problem.
  • I worked until long after midnight because I saw no other chance to get at least the most necessary things halfway done.

Things I am grateful for:

  • I could help someone today.
  • Someone else helped me today.
  • The first "someone" wrote to thank me and offered to do me a favour. Maybe I'll find some small, harmless task in my messy life I can delegate? (If not, I'm still grateful I could help him.)

Daily Plan

  1. Emails
  2. I'd like to watch a video briefly.
  3. Set up environment for tests
    1. I might try to write a test and verify it
    2. What are js log events?
  4. I have a test to run today
  5. Then let's do our taxes when we get home.
    1. fuu... later :D
  6. Do I have to pay back some loans?
    1. Do I have a reminder for it?
    2. I should call the OSAP loan services and try to cancel the loans
    3. This is a fail sad It's too late in the day to call them now
    4. I can't disable interest... School.

Knitfisher's Check in Tue 19th March 10:50 am

Hi everyone. Taking the very unusual step of posting from my client's site. I have a lot to do this week, and although I'm concerned they might find out about my dirty little secret of procrastination, I find this tool too useful to limit its use to when I'm working from home. clement ci - day 129 attempting abstinence, 49 from self

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self.

THINGS I DID WELL TODAY

Made progress on fixing PC.
On time and prepared for appt.
did 4 errands the kids needed, plus provided dinner.
made important client phone call--went well.
rescheduled another client.

THINGS I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER

morning took too long. Could have started sooner and had more time for work.

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR

received another client.
Wife doing great job at readying mom's house.
r&r time at end of day.
this reflection time, and pre-planning tmrw
that it is not even 11pm and i'm already finishing up.
that my to-do lists are working, helping me stay on top.
That God has granted me a fairly good recovery day.
For the verse that helped me, oh, probably 10 times today

Those who wait upon the Lord
Will renew their strength.
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

That is a blessing right from heaven to my mind.
