Promises of Recovery in Procrastinators Anonymous

Promise #4:

Well-planned and completed actions will be our new way of life; organizing will become second nature.

The desire to daydream, the avoidance of tasks, and the dread of actions will all disappear -- as we find true pleasure and spiritual fulfillment in completing the task before us.

LizzieT's Saturday

Excellent!  Today has been great so far.  Started with a walk/run and included a trip to the museum and a chat with friends.  Now to meet my need to get stuff done for my internship.

Log onto school site and download any extra materials I need

Check project plan in forum, and do today's tasks or plan them out.

10 min putting away or decluttering.

I just cannot get working today. I am tired of the endless looping of the same job drama. Can't get myself to focus and do the work, don't make money, always late on bills, blah blah blah blah ... it's like a broken record and I'm truly sick of it.

So far today I went for a half hour walk, did some strength exercises, got myself all dolled up to start feeling better about myself again ... but now at the library and time drunk, visiting news and social media sites. I find myself looking in on what other people are doing online, wishing I had their life. Why do I do this? Why can't I get MY life the way I want it instead. I don't want to be living off other people's dreams. I want MY dreams to come true too!

The library closes in 2 hours. Surely I can get something done.

I'll start with the serenity prayer:

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change

Courage to change the things I can

and wisdom to know the difference.

Step 3: I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God.

Lord, help me to just do the next right little thing. Amen.

Thanks for posting this, movingalong:

"find true pleasure and spiritual fulfillment in completing the task before us."
