Fading

Launched in today with firm resolve, but started to dwadle between cases and even within cases. Last case had to keep going bacl over things because I was nodding off. Checking in to set a goal and regain focus.

Goal 1: 3 hours with no internet

Goal 2: Try to stay on pace of 30 minutes per case

Back to report.

Happy Valentine's Day to all here! Thanks for the support and love~

Quotes for the day to inspire and remind us to conquer our fears and take action:

"He who is not every day conquering

some fear has not learned the secret of life."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Here is one that I have up on my bookcase
and I make sure I let it sink in at least once
a week:

"It is important that you get clear for
yourself that your only access to impacting
life is action.  The world does not care
what you intend, how committed you are,
how you feel or what you think, and
certainly it has no interest in what you
want and don't want. Take a look at life
as it is lived and see for yourself that the
world only moves for you when you act."

~ Werner Erhard

Hi and good wishes to all!

I want to feel better about how I use today than the way I feel about how I used yesterday. So:

I choose accomplishment in reality over escape, today, particularly in these ways:

  • I choose to be free of the compulsive trance of doing online puzzles--I know that doing even one is one too many, because one almost never feels like enough.
  • I choose to do my non-fiction listening only during chores or exercise or travel and before 22:00.
  • I choose to do my fiction listening only between 18:00 and 22:00 and during chores or exercise or travel.
  • I choose to read fiction by eye only after I've grocery-shopped and cooked something substantial and before 22:00.
  • I choose to experience silence after 22:00. I encourage myself to be in bed by 23:00, even if the lights aren't out. I want to feel rested and energetic when I wake up, tomorrow! I want to enjoy mornings!

(I did well with all of these except getting to bed by 23:00--I think I made it to bed about 01:00.)

Done (or Done Enough) on Tuesday, 02/14/12:
brush teeth and splint
shower & wash hair
pay utility bill
8:00 appointment
mail utility bill
enjoyed relatively early morning, including through a bit of photography
finish printing apa covers
submit timecard
email check-in buddy
request removal from redplum ads mailing list
job work: pursue (and get!) screen shots
make shopping list
shop for groceries
do warm & delicate loads of laundry
cook soup
Qi Gong
do 10 min. of clearout! (dealt with a bit of junk mail)
get Language of Letting Go from the library and start reading it
take bedtime Rx

Made Progress on Tuesday 02/14/12:
bookend and check-in at P.A.

Not Done on Tuesday, 02/14/12:

job work: incorporate rcts
job work: make new section
job work: rebuild and announce addition to reviewers

run dishwasher
start zine (do at least 10 min.!) (I did do a micro-step on this: opened most recent issue and looked for comments to me that I want to be sure to reply to, and noted the names of the participants involved)

Wednesday morning commentary: I'm pleased with how much I got done, overall, on Tuesday, 02/14/12. It was definitely an improvement over Monday in that respect. I'd like to have higher numbers to be proud of re job work time, going forward.

Lord, i would like to thank you for PA. For this group of people who share this disease that most people dont understand. For this place of non-judgement, acceptance, and encouragement. For the opporunity to come here and work thru my issues that are so difficult for me, and have been so resistant to change for so many decades. For the hope of recovery that this fellowship gives me, and for the recovery already achieved. I thank you.

Hi!

Thanks for the great threadstarter, Lucky! Love you, too!!! :)

Happy Valentine's Day, all!!! :)

Woke up early, feel like I'm not going back to sleep. So if I'm going to stay up, I might as well putter around a little bit. Will put on some music. Puppy is still asleep, and the time is too early to walk puppy anyway lol. OK, here goes the music and I will see what I can get done :) 10am today my organizer lady will come to help me for a couple hours, so maybe I can get the "easy" part(s) done before she gets here :)

6am Took puppy for a walk, fed puppy. Haven't eaten breakfast yet, but drank a beverage. Successfully sorted items for 1 hour: same stuff, now more grouped & organized :) Music helped to keep progress going on. Next: Focus on kitchen counter 1, then focus on dining table.

8am. Added Valentine's greeting toward top of my post :) Kitchen counter 1 is cleaned, and "everything" is put away. Fixed & ate breakfast. Sent Valentine greeting emails. Bagged up 2 bags of trash. Still have the dining room table (and more) to deal with ;)

8:40am. Dining room table is cleared, and things are put away. Next: take puppy for a walk, then work on kitchen counter 2.

9:30am. Took puppy for a walk, then took 4 bags of trash to the dumpster. From kitchen counter 2, removed dishes that need to be washed & started dishwasher.

Organizer lady will be here at 10am. I've done all the "easy" stuff. Chronic stuff is what is left, such as the remaining part of kitchen counter 2. I've accomplished my pre-organizing-appt goals, so I am going to take a break & look at a catalog for a few minutes ;) Could still pick up a few puppy toys and move a few boxes before appt.

1:30pm. Took puppy for a walk. Fixed & ate lunch. Next: take a nap until my friend calls my cell phone. Exhausted after working so hard with organizer lady. We cleared: stacked up mail from kitchen counter, 2 side tables of stuff, 1 doll table of stuff, and opened a Bunch of mail-order packages. It may not sound like much, but it was 2.5 solid hours of work. It looks a lot cleaner in here for sure! Depackaged dolls & boxes are in the guest room. That's my play time for the next few weeks, so it's ok for it to last a while :) After my nap I will be going out for the rest of the day, so talk with you later! :)

Have a great day, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)
