Daily Check-in thread: Saturday November 15th 2014

God,

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

The courage to change the things I can

And the wisdom to know the difference

Following on from the discussion in the thread here, I though I'd offer a temporary workaround to not being able to create new threads and the unmanageabity of such a long 17th March thread, by recycling the thread from exactly on year ago to use for each daily check-in. Feel free to use whatever system works for you.

Yours in fellowship,

Jack

 "Benefits of Recovery

There are two benefits from recovery: we have short-term gains and long-term gains.

The short-term gains are the things we can do today that help us feel better immediately.

The long-term
progress is steady, but sometimes slow, happening in increments and
often with much forward and backward movement. Enough days at a time of
practicing recovery behaviors and piling up short term gains leads to
long-term rewards.

Today, I will be grateful for the immediate
and long-term rewards of recovery. If I am new to recovery, I will have
faith that I can achieve the long-term benefits. If I've been recovering
for a while, I will pause to reflect, and be grateful for my overall
progress."

KF check in Fri 15th Nov 1pm

Budy few days with a late night, then a day conference and dinner and then client visit this morning. This morning was good. My client is a nice guy, he just needs to get some stuff straight.

Today I'm going to cut myself some slack and just get the paperwork straight for now. I have to go out again tonight so a nap is probably in order. Not what I normally do even on my laziest days, but I just don't want to be miserable later for my friend's engagement celebration.

  • Sort SD paperwork
  • Update SD access & email re bank
  • Washing dry
  • Change bed dh did
