Well, last night I stayed up to fill out that form, and this morning I made that phonecall right away. A good start in terms of taking action. Today I want to focus on developing a planning system that works for me.

Bad night again, but have to get through the work today. Feeling crappy about it. But this doesn’t mean I can’t get what I need to get done, done. It’s just a matter of taking a breath, doing what I think needs doing, and then walking away. Much better than worrying, and worrying about the consequences/options/viewpoints.
Today I have already:
Had breakfast
Had a shower
Listened to another podcast
Signed tax form
Today I will:
Email property solicitor to ask abt contracts before I leave. called them instead
Ask for chqs

Do P's work - as fast as you can!

Have lunch
GO FOR A WALK I MEAN IT I gave myself the gift of moving today. It was survival tactic, true, I had to get out because I felt so anxious. ANd now I really do feel much better and ready to complete this task that has been worrying me so.

My day today

I will try and be positive about nmy ability to do my work. I wont let myself fall into stories about how I have to be perfect or try and escape by heading onto websites that waste my time.

My goal for today is to write just one chapter on this report.

Then go to an AA meeting for 5:30.

I wont get tied up in other peoples plans any more or go chasing after people to spend time with tonight.  

 

My Day Today

I want to thank my Higher Power for this program, this website, the telephone and online meetings, and my life.

I want to thank movingalong for starting this trend.

Things I will do today

1. Go to the 5:45 a.m. telephone ACA meeting and business meeting

2. Go to the 7:30 a.m. telephone OA meeting

3. Go to the 8:30 a.m. telephone CLA meeting

4. Go to the 9:45 a.m. telephone CLA activity line

5. Cook and eat breakfast

6. Take shower

7. Wash dishes

8. Go to the 12 noon telephone ACA meeting

9. Go to my mom's apartment and do some work

10. Eat dinner

11. Go to work at 5:30 p.m.

Thank you. I did get back to sleep. On the sofa after some reading.

It's a work thing that I've not dealt with before and I'm terrified of doing the wrong thing. I know it can be fixed later, but that's not ideal. And I'm terrified to ask for help because someone is paying me to do this and I feel like I should know it already. Which is silly. because everyone has to do something for the first time.

Its so difficult to justify leisure when so many things are undone (I think that this is something that non-procrastinators do not understand. While we avoid, we are not usually enjoying ourselves even if no work is done) perhaps amidst my stress later today (it's 2.30am now) I can give myself permission to play. Because without it, what's the point of our hard work?

I admit that I am powerless over my procrastination and debt and that my life had become unmanageable.  I came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God.

 

 "Its not about the tasks - its about listening to the moment and going with the flow of the spirit.

Its not about the money, its about listening to the simplicity of need and contentment.

 

 

 

 

 

Reflections on last 2 days:

Good progress...some really good study sessions with good concentration, healthy food, exercise daily. some important/urgent tasks done. Have noticed increased mindfulness re: money and need vs want.

Frustrations... some sessions of self sabotage, pity party and discontentment aka Bridget Jones style. I already am getting my tension headaches as I fall into study mode.

 Important tasks for today:

college online module 15mins

buy olives and ham only at deli 

pay registration

Sanity tasks for today:

eat healthy -  be mindful of quality and quantity 

exercisse - try run around block this afternoon - if wimp out, do pilates.

coffee and start letter;  

lunch w friend

I don't know if you knew this ...

You can edit your own posts to update your lists,
by looking at the bottom of your individual post, where it says:
"by username, date&time, edit, reply, Printer-friendly version"
and then clicking on the word "edit".
Many of our members do it that way.

However, others prefer to reply to themselves with updates,
as you have done, because they prefer to see a separate updated list.

There isn't a rule either way. Just post your lists and updates in whatever way works for you.

Note that, once you've replied to yourself, you won't be able to edit the earlier post. (and you won't have the word "edit" to click on).

Also, note that when you click "reply" under another member's post -- with the intent of sending comments and encouragement to them for his/her list, then he/she can no longer edit his/her own post, and will have to create a new post on the daily thread with a new list to update.
Some members don't mind that at all -- because they are grateful for ANY response;
but others prefer to just have one post that they edit throughout the day.

(This will explain why you sometimes see posts on the daily check-in threads that are directed at a particular member -- but are posted separately on the thread, and not under that member's list. This is being done so that the original list can be easily edited).

Progress

Progress: deli, only bought ham/olives/coffee and wrote nice long letter. Paid membership (loss of limb due to cost!)

good concentration in morning session.

good healhty lunch and catchup BUT too much work talk and my performance anxiety arcing up in anticipation of next week - I need to improve MY performance compared to me, not others. 

Frustrations:

emailed college - don't have guts to ring which makes it worse as didn't work online.

 soo - am currently procrastinating by sifting trhough email inbox - - kind of important except thats not what I need to be doing at this time.

 

SO - Listen to the flow of the moment!

Refocus - choose to either let go of control over email/phone call now or not to obsess over it on the weekend. Let it go.

Gosh movingalong- you don't know what you've started! There must have been some serendipity in my checking in a day ahead of myself because today (thurs) is the one day a week when I walk to town and pass an art supply shop. And if I hadn't been so deliciously enticed by your thread-starter I would not have gone in there and bought myself an exquisite, tiny tin of watercolours and a paint brush. I can't wait to have a go. It feels like a present from you. Thank you so much.
