Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
"Go with the flow,
even when the flow takes us through uncomfortable feelings. Release,
freedom, healing, and good feelings are on the other side.
Today,
I am open and willing to feel what I need to feel. I am willing to stop
my compulsive behaviors. I am willing to let go of my denial. I am
willing to feel what I need to feel to be healed, healthy, and whole."
From The Language of Letting Go by Melody Beattie
I admit that I am powerless over my procrastination and debt and that my life had become unmanageable. I came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God.
"Its not about the tasks - its about listening to the moment and going with the flow of the spirit.
As the first day of work approaches on Wednesday, I notice some of the anxieties building up. I also found some clothes I wore less than 4 years ago which show how much weight I have let creep on - for me it just demonstrates the power of habit (including negative habits like not exercising regularly). And money a bit tight at the moment as pay for airticket this week - but have been dragging the chain wrt chasing up the pay owed to me - seriously, it is ridiculous sometimes how I can sabotage myself.
BUT: study is coming along and overall I'm making progress and adding some good habit coins into my Emotional Bank account.
Today:
Market - buy stuff on list only
1030 pick up g'ma to take to g'aunt bday - don't b e late! No control overlunch but small portions
Sooooo- Sunday was out of control 'unmanageable' as we say - and I could 'hear' what the flow was and yet chose to ignore it. Sigh. I am choosing to be 'open' and take a fearless inventory of Sunday, to 'feel' the pain, to 'release', to move beyond denial, to be 'open' and accept forgiveness, to ask for the wisdom and power for today only.
Things I did well:
Market - stuck to list and budget - big progress!
Quality time withg'ma
some initial quick anat revision.
ate healthily
Things I can improve on:
do some exercise everyday.
do some study when you don't feel like it - just start.
don't despair or lose hope - watching tv doesn't change events, it just drowns out the 'feelings' and denial.
