"I don't want to reach the end of my life
and regret not having given my days
everything in me to make them worthwhile."
-- Diana Nyad, swimmer, in 2011
------------
"I got three messages:
One is: We should never ever give up.
Two is: You're never too old to chase your dreams.
Three is: It looks like a solitary sport, but it's a team."
-- Diana Nyad, upon emerging from the ocean onto the beach,
after being the first (verified) person to swim from Cuba to Florida
without the aid of a shark cage or fins.
Length of swim: 110.4 miles (177.7 km)
Duration of swim: nearly 53 hours,
from August 31 - September 2, 2013.
Her age: 64.
------------
"We all have dreams.
And we all get disappointed.
We all have heartache and we suffer and work to get through it.
It's just the human condition. ...
So I stand here today so proud.
I'm so proud of my team and I'm so proud of myself."
-- Diana Nyad, at news conference the next day.
Note: She tried and failed this four times in her life -- over 35 years.
Finally succeeded -- in her fifth attempt -- at age 64.

To the curious:
I told you all you need to know in the thread-starter.
So you don't need to google anything.

Plan first. Observe tendency to reach for familiar escape routes. Pause and breathe. Be gentle to self.

show up (done), basics, set goals.
"When an issue or problem emerges and needs our attention, identify it
and openly discuss it with at least one safe person and God. Accept it.
Become willing to let go of it. Ask God to take it from us. Have a
change of heart by the willingness to make whatever amend is called for -
to do what is necessary to take care of ourselves. Take an appropriate
action to resolve the matter. Then let go of the guilt and shame.
