wow, kf, that's encouraging. I seem to face that so often, it's encouraging to see someone else face it too and persevere thru it. Thanks for sharing!

@clement

Thanks! Sometime we have to give ourselves credit for the effort taken, even if the results don't seem like much. In fact, I think we should probably do that more often than not.

KF Check in Thursday 15th Aug 09:45am

I'm am mainly afraid of having all this time, and not using it well. Yesterday was not a disaster. A disaster would have been only getting an hour's work done, or none at all. Instead, I did my best through a discouraged mood. I got work done, I got a little non-work done. And today I will do the same again.

Today I have already:

  • Had breakfast
  • Had a laugh at the radio
  • had a shower
  • Called the bin people

Today I will:

  • Put wash on
  • Dry washing
  • Reply to B
  • work out A days
  • Do WD Work (at least 6 poms) done 5/6
  • Finish off LP (1/2 poms)
  • Lunch
  • Draw up a plan for SD
  • Do at least 4 poms on SD Done 4/4 then went way over. Stopping now.
  • Finish work at 6.00
  • De-clutter (1 pom)
  • Wash up & put away
  • Start dinner 6.45

This week:

  • Mock exam
  • Throw what you can at SD work
  • Call SD acnts
  • Chase last few docs for WS
  • Draw up accnts for WS
  • Text WS for visit date?
  • Declutter

ms thursday

hi all, it's been months since I have been here. That is mainly becasue I've had no huge deadlines and so have been shuffeling along aimlessly and without too much missery. Now (of course) that is catching up with me both in terms of a basic lack of output and (more pressingly) I'm unhappy and grumpy and isolating. so today

  • show up
  • wash and dress
  • scrub bedroom
  • email a
  • weave
  • post office
  • wrap gift and write card
  • write a plan of action for next big project in order
  • email m&g
  • check the text written by int
  • NO NAPS
  • (add to list as go)

happy working y'all

riddled's Thursday ToDos

  • post birthday card
  • productive workday
  • take swimming test (needed for health insurance: they have a bonus program where you get money if you can prove you did a number of health-related activities, like some sports stuff, cancer screening, donating blood, ...)
  • don't forget: mail D about S
  • clear household chores backlog: laundry, dishes

clement ci - day 279 attempting abstinence, 199 from self

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self. AA Big Book says to rely on God. Quoted in my bookmarks : scroll down to "AA Big Book on fears : relying on God not self-reliance:"

  • I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety of relying on God than to get things done.
    • "15 Points" point 5 says:
      5. Develop and rehearse a daily plan of thinking and acting by which you will live that day relying on God, regardless of what may upset you or how hard the old urge to rely on self may hit you.

      My Plan is this:

      1. read "15 Points"
      2. Meditate for 5 min on the attributes of God

When we retire at night, we constructively review our day (BB).
  • Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid?
  • Do we owe an apology?
  • Have we kept something to ourselves which should be discussed with another person at once?
  • Were we kind and loving toward all?
  • What could we have done better?
  • Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time?
  • Or, were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life?

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (everything i "did well" comes from god, either thru gifts he's given me or the way he's transformed me)
