Today you are you.

This is truer than true.

There is no-one on earth

Who is youer than you.

Dr Seuss

clement ci - day 231 attempting abstinence, 151 from self

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self. AA Big Book says to rely on God. Quoted in my bookmarks : scroll down to "AA Big Book on fears : relying on God not self-reliance:"

  • I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety of relying on God than to get things done.
    • "15 Points" point 5 says:
      5. Develop and rehearse a daily plan of thinking and acting by which you will live that day relying on God, regardless of what may upset you or how hard the old urge to rely on self may hit you.

      My Plan is this:

      1. read "15 Points"
      2. Meditate for 5 min on the attributes of God

When we retire at night, we constructively review our day (BB).

  • Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid?
    - Yes resentful on the big issue. Lord help me focus on you, not other ppls opinion of me.
  • Do we owe an apology?
  • Have we kept something to ourselves which should be discussed with another person at once?
  • Were we kind and loving toward all?
  • What could we have done better?
    - receive more recovery, so i did not have to go off plan twice when transitioning from big day with family, back into doing tasks my myself. That was RLY hard.
  • Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time?
    - yeah. Lord pls help me think about you and others more, and myself less.
  • Or, were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life?
    - i packed a lot in today.

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (everything i "did well" comes from god, either thru gifts he's given me or the way he's transformed me)

TY that i could help my client well.
TY for son's match win.
TY for watching tennis w/ family.
TY for getting back into recovery, overcoming enormous obstacles with physical manifestations.
That was a big one.
TY for going thru my task list, and knowing i can leave all to tmrw. Such a better state of on top of things than at any other point in my life.
Pls help me finish the night on plan with its few tasks.

solidarity in your goings on, jay. There are few things in life more stressful than lawsuits, for BOTH sides, even if you're 100% in the right. I pray your spirit great rest and rejuvenation during this period. I pray that you can get / stay close to God's spirit of Rest, Joy, Comfort, Strength, Refuge during this time. In fact this is what i pray for you:

fudoshin: checkin: 4:25pm

Please do not leave advice or feedback.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

I need to fix my sleeping schedule. Today I woke up at 4:05.  After the alarm went off I did some stretches.  Tomorrow I'm waking up by 3pm.  Monday I'm waking up by 1:30pm.  Tuesday
I'm waking up by 12:30pm, etc.  Until I start waking up at 8am again.  I
think I may have an unconscious desire to isolate so that I can get a
vacation from reality, but sleeping when it's light out is really not
fun, and having to be awake at night is also not fun.  Missing phone
calls that are important is also not fun, although maybe I am looking
for a break from people, I prefer to be sleeping at night.

So I'm going to have to get ready for sleep by 6am, which is weird, b/c I
did that.  Oh well. I've set my alarm clock to go off at 3pm.

 Show up (done) , exper,plan,followthrough

good reading today for me to remember: The Language of Letting Go God's Will   Saturday, June 29, 2013

"God's will most often happens in spite of us, not because of us.

We
may try to second guess what God has in mind for us, looking,
searching, hypervigilant to seek God's will as though it were a buried
treasure, hidden beyond our reach. If we find it, we win the prize. But
if we're not careful, we miss out.

That's not how it works.

We do have a
part. We have responsibilities, including caring for ourselves. But we
do not have to control God's will for us. We are being taken care of. We
are protected. And the Power caring for and protecting us loves us very
much.

If it is a quiet day,
trust the stillness. If it is a day of action, trust the activity. If it
is time to wait, trust the pause. If it is time to receive that which
we have been waiting for, trust that it will happen clearly and with
power, and receive the gift in joy.

Today,
I will trust that God's will is happening, as it needs to in my life. I
will not make myself anxious and upset by searching vigorously for
God's will, taking unnecessary actions to control the course of my
destiny or wondering if God's will has passed me by and I have missed
it."

Hello jay - I'm sorry my message was a bit confused. I was conflating you and jalla. Must remember to put on my reading glasses... all strength to you. Every tiny step is a breakthrough - even just writing July at the top of a page!

hi mole, just wanted to say thank you, i read your list & your 'big july planner' was a good influence on me..i've really lost my way and am basically back to square one when i first started using PA..to the extent that even basic hygeine is gone...remarkable considering my quote. it's back to basics for me. much of my life is weighed down in a lawsuit i'm pursuing and i feel i can't move on til it's over but i know i should be working hard to keep myself well as i can while i'm pursuing it. anyway i shall make a BIG JULY PLANNER.

@jalla

Thank you for the visuals, jalla!  This ditty has been been my morning mantra ever since you first posted it!

@ mole

its a great daily ditty! I might join you! How is your arm? i hope it is improving and that you have a lovely Sunday dear Molexoxo

@jalla

Oh jalla, I do feel for you feeling you are back at square one, and weighed down by what sounds like an Allerdyce and Allerdyce (is that right?)of a case. So hard to not let something like that consume your mind all the time.your thread starters or always so uplifting to me - and I am sure to others, I hope our pleasure is reflected back on you.

As for my arm - it hasn't changed much, but I am getting more philosophical about it, and more realistic about  how long it takes to do things! Needless to say I didn't even start the July plan yesterday, but will check in now and see where I might fit at least a beginning in.

hope your Sunday brings its pleasures,, dear jalla. all strength. I know one of the things I procrastinate about is taking a day off!

Saturday

Thank you dear Mole! I love Dr. Suess!!xo

Mole's check in

It is midday. I have hung out the washing, written and eaten and am weighing whether to go on bush route to Prov. it has just become windy and overcast.

Prov with project

Buy fruit e route  home.

pick up papers

bring in washing

There are a large number of things, some important some less so that I have been procrastinating about - making myself busy or pretend busy with other things.

These fall into the following categories:

clear deadlines (p's project, tower business, report to C)

important  (admin, accounts)

people who need some TLC  or who I have not contacted for an embarrassingly long time.

exercises

decluttering.

garden planting and weeding,

electrics, plumbing and roof

So when I get back from prov I am going to mark out a big July planner . But I need to make sure I don't overestimate what I can do, or it will be abandoned.

eat well tonight, relax and get to bed by 11

HONOUR T'S WORK

HONOUR E'S WORK

THINGS I DID WELL TODAY

recognising what I was doing wrong with my list/tasks - a reality check. This will put me in good stead for costing and working out P's project.

following my instinct instead ofjeopardising it with over organisation in my writing .

THINGS I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER

this is a prime example of biting off more than I can chew - and part of this is not remembering the steps that it takes to PREPARE and COMPLETE a task.  shopping means unpacking it and putting it away. Bringing the washing in means making the bed and putting the rest away. I didn't allow for washing up- and perhaps most important of all, it hasn't allowed for the rest I need to give my arm between each task. I need to aerate the list, allow some energy to flow
