This made me chuckle ... The 12 Steps to Total and Complete Insanity
1. We admitted we were powerless over nothing. We could manage our lives perfectly and we could manage those of anyone else that would allow it.
2. Came to believe that there was no power greater than ourselves, and the rest of the world was insane.
3. Made a decision to have our loved ones and friends turn their wills and their lives over to our care.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of everyone we knew.
5. Admitted to the whole world at large the exact nature of their wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to make others straighten up and do right.
7. Demanded others to either "shape up or ship out".
8. Made a list of anyone who had ever harmed us and became willing to go to any lengths to get even with them all.
9. Got direct revenge on such people whenever possible except when to do so would cost us our own lives, or at the very least, a jail sentence.
10. Continued to take inventory of others, and when they were wrong promptly and repeatedly told them about it.
11. Sought through nagging to improve our relations with others as we couldn't understand them at all, asking only that they knuckle under and do things our way.
12. Having had a complete physical, emotional and spiritual breakdown as a result of these steps, we tried to blame it on others and to get sympathy and pity in all our affairs.

8:45 am :
i went a little off plan this morning already. a few min. But i want to get ready by 9am so i'm here if the job opportunity calls. So i should shower before that. But i promised i would have a plan. so,
:) shower
:) quiet time
:) review organize prioritize tasks
do tasks. Dedicate each task to god as i start it. God grant me the strength to pick myself up and work my program, one day ( hour, minute ) at a time; thy will, not mine be done.
that's it.
9:21 am :
hmmm i guess i went off plan. saw the pile of mail and remembered there was something had to look for in there. I'm confused. God grant me wisdom. Cuz that's something i do need to do someday, but might not be on my list, cuz it's small. I think for now i'm gonna add it to the list. Maybe all those things can go on the list.
10:02am :
i am having a VERY hard time concentrating on my quiet time. My mind keeps wandering. every 5 seconds.
This is my nature. The serenity part of the prayer
coming here is the courage part.
In Romans 5:15-17 Paul compares sin coming into the world thru adam to grace and forgiveness coming into the world thru Jesus. Paul was a very logical man, and his argument lays out very logically. Thank you god for freeing me from my distractability so that i could process the text and see this structure
10:43 am :
it's been 40 min since i last went off task. starting next task.
10:47 am:
it's been 44 min since i last went off task.

Thanks for sharing the tounge-in-cheek "12 steps" on the thread starter, Jack. Not only funny but also supports the importance of the real 12 steps.
Today I've got one midday appointment that I actually need to be on time for (!), plus:
- At least 3 applications overdue
- Followup Bills/Mail

Thanks for the thread starter, jack!
Struggling today after a weak start, but some progress. Keeping a time log is helping me see how I waste time on non-priority activities, and how these add up!
Wishing you all a productive and peaceful day!
Salamander's check in - Thursday 15 Nov 2012
Thank you, Jack, for starting the thread. I find humour very helpful at times, especially when I'm beating myself up about procrastinating!
I would appreciate it if anyone who feels moved to comment on my post here would write to me privately rather than post in reply to this post - so I can still edit this post here. Thank you!
