No quote today everyone - I just caught myself using 'finding a quote' as an excuse for putting off my to-do list...

Good luck and have a great day.

Vic 10.17.12 Wednesday

Show up (done), calender, exercise

Did lots of program service work. Feel guilty that was not productive with other stuff.???

Need to remember this is my "ticket" to rest of my recovery and my HP will help me do what else needs to be done.  It worked in my other programs and will work here too.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all informa -
tion, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance --
that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

so hard to be here. was working, but not on a plan. feels like wasted time to stop and plan.........

so hard.

...cuz i know that i'm an addict. and i know that i was work binging, head down. and i know that's part of the disease, even tho it was a productive part. but i will miss meetings and deadlines and not organize my work efficiently if i let myself do that.

and i can tell that even now, after having torn myself away, and letting myself get to a bigger perspective, and with time, the urge to work on that 1 project is fading. It doesnt have the grip on me that it did, tho i still feel it as a temptation / urge.

another piece of evidence : i did not charge my ipod and so i missed my reminder about the 11am pa phone mtg, and so i missed that mtg.

I missed the 11:30 phone ckin also. i can make 12:30.

I also just spent an hour online surfing. Bad news.

Now for teh best catch-up plan i can do.

:) quiet time

Today's inspiration from the bible :

"all of us possess knowledge. This "knowledge" puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God" - 1 Corintians 8:1b-2

  • Would that i could focus on my love of God rather then how much i think i "know". God you have to give me victory here.

"i discipline my body and keep it under control." - 1 Corintians 9:27

  • i so struggle with this. God you have to give me victory here, too

fall down seven times, get up eight - japanese proverb

(CLEM)

REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING SOMEONE SENT ME ONCE, HOPE OK TO POST HERE.

1 Corinthians 2:6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the
mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who
are coming to nothing. 7 No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom
that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time
began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had,
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is
written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what
God has prepared for those who love him"-- 10 but God has revealed it to
us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things
of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the
man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of
God except the Spirit of God. 12 We have not received the spirit of the
world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God
has freely given us. 13 This is what we
speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by
the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man
without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit
of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes
judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's
judgment: 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may
instruct him?" 16 But we have the mind of Christ.

yeah, i am reading thru 1 Corinthians so i actually read that a couple days ago!

i think they are saying the same thing. I do pray that God increases my spiritual knowledge.

And to simply note this down.
13. start getting ready for bed at 11pm to wind down and develop bedtime anticrastination to be asleep by midnight. I managed to do this yesterday, but I know pride comes before a fall, so I must be vigilent.

Mole's check in

Thank you Eleanor - this a very good lesson for me! When I came to check in earlier  I was too daunted by the need to start the thread. You have resolved the issue with lightness and honesty and vanquished procrastination in one fell swoop!

morning's writing done. These last couple of days have been hard in spite of pomodoro. Main problem not being sure where I am heading. One rule I need to stick to is not to research during my writing time. I have the Internet off but I'm beginning to think I should remove all my books from the room except thesaurus, dictionary and atlas. Still right at the end I did get a better sense of what I was doing.
