And for those of us who find such pro-active endeavour overwhelming, I can recommend one of the principles of the pomodoro timer technique: that the the use of a timer gives the sense of time running backwards to zero and no longer feels as if it is somehow dashing off out of reach.

this is a late check-in but feel the need to post it.

i am very depressed by my ongoing situation. 

I know I need to make a change or I'll never get out of it. 

Trying very hard to make yet another adjustment in environment/residence. It's not going too well. 

I think this current move though helped me realize that at least as of right now I don't want to move out of state here. I will probably go back to where I was originally at some point. But first I need to earn enough money to have a place. 

The main thing I plan to do different is sign up with temp agencies to do admin. work as opposed to only my industry agencies. It's what I used to do to survive, and I should have done it sooner. 

The depression is making it hard to feel motivated. Tomorrow is another day.

Today my main task is writing. I want to take 3-4 hours and see if I can get an abstract, improved intro, and 2-3 pg draft of results section.(made some progress on this, but not enough

I also want to do some other work:
*Check on expts, restore (1.5 hrs)
*Finish pub-qual figure (1.5-2 hrs)
*Work 30 min on lit. search (I actually did a lot more on this)
*Read paper to review

And then some personal-life stuff:
*Go to bible study
*Go dancing
*Pay verizon bill
*I need to have a difficult conversation with a friend soon, so I will script this out tonight.

Be clear with, loving and forgiving to myself. And when I am up to it to gently analyse how to describe this fear that grips me, to love the neglected baby in me, cherish him, and ask what he needs. And to simply note this down.
22. start getting ready for bed at 11pm to wind down and develop bedtime anticrastination to be asleep by midnight. Forgive myself for nearly falling off the sobriety wagon in this area yesterday.
