Feel the need for 12-step related check-in as I need healing and haven't found anything outside of 12-step literature that helps me recover. I'm posting a random PA tool and step today as a reminder of what PA is here for.
PA TOOL 7: Avoid Perfectionism: Procrastinators have a tendency to spend
more time on a task than it warrants, so tasks that should be
quick to do take an agonizingly long time. Notice this tendency
and stop yourself. Some things require completion, not perfection.
PA STEP 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God.

came to post my mantra for today. and whaddaya know, it's somewhat consistent with step 3:
This helps me ( a little ) get out of my own head and my own self-pity and think about something bigger than myself.

Focus on the positive.

Concentrate on completing a lot:
3/3-3/5kitchen, dinner, finish up with summer clothes, finish steamingdentist, sprts, gasorder mug, ipkromer 10:55 CI
This week has been really tough.
So, I need to scale down and do ONE task at a time.
I will, first, come up with a list of collection tips. This should take me about an hour.
kromer 3:15 CI
I finished the list of collection tips! And I also figured how to evaluate collection and ordered some new instruments.
That means I've done 2 solid hours of work. Which feels pretty lame, but it's a lot better than I had done the rest of the week.
I will now try to figure out the biomaRt issue.

Friday...hmm...
Well I feel like deleting all the things I didn't get done yesterday, Friday, because I'm embarrassed there's so many of them. Chaotic start to the day with two staff ill didn't help but I can't really use that as an excuse - the real problem was that one admin task that I'm still working on is taking ages. It's not that I'm being all perfectionist about it. I'm just not good at the kind of thinking that it involves. Now I'm supposed to have the rest of today (Sat), Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for writing - but I've got all these admin tasks that should have been done yesterday hanging over me. Maybe if I time table some short admin bursts amongst my writing bursts I'll get it all done - and it'll make the writing seem that much more enjoyable! Well, I'll go and do a Saturday check in and see how it goes.
