Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Already had a full morning including about 2 billable hours, no procrastination behavior so far but I'm in danger of letting the urgent trump the important. I like Journey's observation that we can try different ways on different days, to sidestep the temptation to procrastinate. I love creativity! So applying creative approaches to my avoidance of routine, is a pretty happy thought. :-)

READING FOR DAY - INSPIRATION
Conserving Resources
In this fight against compulsive procrastination, we need all the strength we can muster. We can learn to conserve our energy for what is important, rather than wasting it on non-essential activities.
An extra hour of sleep may do more for our program than an hour spent reading a novel or watching television. We have to guard against compulsive overactivity as well as procrastination. Often, we tend to push too hard to complete something which can just as well wait until tomorrow. If we are tired, we are less able to resist temptation to procrastinate.
Choosing the foods, which will provide us with necessary proteins, vitamins, and minerals, is a vital part of maintaining energy. To take care of our bodies is to nurture the most valuable physical resource we have.
Only we ourselves, with the guidance of our Higher Power, can decide how best to use the strength and energy we have.
Teach me to conserve the resources You have given me.
Happy Tuesday! I am working from home today and continuing to recover from my cold. I am not 100% yet but much better. Here's the list:
Exercise - do a fairly easy 30 minute video done, but easy seemed hard today lol
5 minutes of Shiva Nata
straighten small desk
Project O - convert script
Project O - research f request
Project O - Finish install and writeup (several hours) -not finished but made a lot of progress
Plan for DP
If time review SS goals and AO goals
Quiet time
Pay car insurance did it first thing Thursday morning
Make a simple dinner
unload dishwasher -started . . . and loaded it!
1 load laundry - started
ORDER THAT HOUSEWARMING GIFT
If time, watch leo's webcast and read blog (1 hour?)
clean out fridge (15 minutes?)
I ended up having a fairly productive day yesterday even though I was feeling puny, by focusing on just one big task most of the day. I'll try that again today. It may be just that I'm not feeling great so I'm less easily distracted, but worth another try. You know, I don't think it matters as much what method you choose as much as it matters that you think about your method and try things to make you more productive. When you think about the method, you're actively working on improving. Wasn't there some study about that? Where these efficiency experts studied people and found that it didn't matter what they did to improve productivity, the very act of participating in the study made people more productive. Anyway, I'm rambling. Time to exercise!
Update 6 pm - did ok today - I had a couple of hours in the afternoon where I was not as productive as I wanted to be, but recovered. Completed all my work MITs, although I didn't finish the Project O task and I could have if I had used that 2 hours well. But I made a lot of progress, so I'm happy with my productivity for today. Now time to make (an easy) dinner, finish putting away laundry and unloading dishwasher, and clean out that fridge.
After dinner and chores, I'll pay car insurance and order that stupid gift. Then, if I want I will either review goals or watch webcast. After that I can goof around on the computer, watch tv, read, whatev.
See you tomorrow!
Jo

Just thought you'd want to know that when you reply to somebody else's post, then they cannot update their post to say what they've completed
If you're just posting your own list, it usually works better to NOT reply to someone's post with your own list. Why? Because then the other person cannot edit their post to update it to say what they've completed.
It's usually better to click on "Add Comment" at the top of the daily page, and then that will open a window that helps you reply to the daily thread-header (instead of specifically to a person.) Doing it that way is better for posting your own lists.
However, sometimes we all reply directly to someone ... to say something encouraging directly to the person that we're replying to -- and, in that case, it's just fine. The person then adjusts by posting
another list with updates.
It took each of us a while to figure all this out! So don't worry. We understand!
