fudoshin: day 29

Please do not leave advice or feedback.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

Been folowing through with my ground rules, because simply
not stalking is not enough in order to get and feel healthy.  The healthy boundary I established for myself on Wednesday:

  • no video-streaming Monday through Wednesday (that means not using
YouTube, vimeo, dailymotion,  netflix in order to stream videos)  I
won't die, it's just three days a week.

Perhaps I should even reward myself, if I "do good" so to speak.  Yes, sounds like a good idea.

Things I would like to do, whether or not I can actually do them, so
that I can keep in mind what my goals are:(it's in blue if I attended to
it today)

1) to commit to 30 minutes of studying per day for school, using my clock to time myself and get started

2) exercise for 30 minutes each day, in order to start my goal of doing a running plan, so that I can do the 5K in May.

3) avoid skin-picking and pulling

4) Figure out if I can still get credit for past course work

5) fix my sleeping schedule, and show up on time for my classes.

6) attain the right thesis adviser for me

7) take the GRE's again

8) Get a part-time job that works with my school schedule and enables me
to feel financially secure and independent, preferably in my industry
of computing or in math, the area of my research.  (Applied to jobs.)

9) Brush and floss my teeth before bed, and sleep in my bed at night.  It takes about an hour to do this.

10) Go to one OSPA or PA meeting, one SLAA meeting and one CoDA meeting
per week.   (I think it's enough to go to four meetings per week, even
though I'm in four programs.)

11) Read my affirmations and goals, especially my goals, because it helps me to know where I'm going.

12) Get back to step work with "a" sponsor.

Interesting schedule.  I would love to keep a schedule like that.

wrkinprogrss: 02/17/12

Hi and good wishes, everyone, for today and your weekend!

I choose accomplishment in reality over escape, today, particularly in these ways:

  • I encourage myself to stay free of the compulsive trance of doing online puzzles--I know that doing even one is one too many, because one almost never feels like enough.
  • I choose to do my non-fiction listening only during chores or exercise or travel and preferably before 22:00.
  • Before 18:00, I MAY choose to set a 10-minute
timer for any non-fiction reading by eye. After 22:00, I MAY choose to
set a 15-minute timer for any non-fiction reading by eye.
  • I choose to do my fiction listening only between 18:00 and 22:00 and during chores or exercise or travel.
  • I choose to read fiction by eye only after 18:00 and before 22:00.
  • I choose to experience silence after 22:00. I
encourage myself to be in bed by 23:30, even if the lights aren't out. I
want to feel rested and energetic when I wake up, tomorrow! I want to
    enjoy mornings!

Today's Puzzles and Dances and Marks to Hit:

Done or Done Enough: (aka marks hit)
10:00 job work meeting

take vitamins and supplements (first batch taken)

To Do: (aka remaining puzzles and dances and marks I want to hit)
job work: incorporate lots of comments from S

shower, etc.
cook rice!
unload/load dishwasher

make substantial zine progress!
15 minutes of Qi Gong
10 minutes of clearout progress

Late Check in for

Late Check in for today

Having postponed most of my homework,

here are the thing I have to finish for next week:

(from the most time consuming ones to the least):

  • Chemistry Essay:Write titles for all diagrams, write conclusion and limitations
  • Physics Lab: Data Processing, Conclusion, Evaluation
  • English: Write rational
  • French: Insert all the related images
  • MUN:Complete position paper
  • Extracurrical Activity: Complete 1st reflections for all 7 activities
  • Math: Do all the remaining home works
  • English: Read two novels
  • Sciences: Solve all the remaining worksheets
  • Chemistry: Complete all powerpoints
  • Economics: Complete note in Chapter 9, 10, and 11

As you can see, I've got lot to do
and I don't know where to start with it or how to break it down

I worry that if I start with the hardest one, I would end up partially done with the hardest ones and not have done all the rest because of lack of time

I worry that if I start with the easiest one, Iwould have actually done something but I would not have any possibility to do all the hard but important ones.

I worry that if I start by dividing all the works equally, I will eventually have lost one deadline and all the workings get screwed up at once because of that.

Please help me with my worries!

Just for now, I think I will post the same notice everyday during the next week,
and I would keep strike whatever I have done in that list.

Vaskaat 17th Feb

1) Research jobs in various regions

2) Volunteer opportunities

3) Check notebook/tablet prices

4) Shower and brush teeth

5) Check moving list

6) Bank

7) Pick up apples

For the love of humanity get to sleep on time.

Good morning, PA-pals! I want to start today on the right note and avoid the negative thinking that has been haunting me lately.  I'll start that by making a gratitude list. Then I want to:

Laughingget my new printer installed and set up
Laughingprint the tickets for tonight's show
LaughingBreathBreak

make Project W contacts and begin service there
address 2 Project W items from Inbox backlog
BreathBreak

make 2 Project R contacts
address 2 Project R items from the overstuffed Inbox
LaughingLunchBreak

file expenses
timecard
BreathBreak

prepare dinner and load backpack for show
get ready by 3:45pm

if time...
address 2 Project C items from overstuffed Inbox
review Project C QRs
address 2 corporate backlog items

I would also like to spend some time online researching autoimmune disorders, since my dentist told me yesterday that's causing my chronic canker sores (ouch).  He didn't seem too worried or interested in finding out WHAT autoimmune disorder I have, and didn't refer me to an MD or anything.  But as a childless woman with a sick husband, the thought of me becoming ill is very scary.  I want to resist my usual pattern of throwing everything else aside to obsessively research the problem, stabbing my fear to death with data points ... so I'm just saying it's on my mind but I will not address it headlong until accomplishing the above tasks. It's not as tho I'll die tomorrow if I don't know.

Journey 10:30 & CO

Was late today :( after being early almost every day last week.   Oh, well, next week I'll get back on track with getting up earlier and getting to work earlier.   I have been to the gym, had an excellent workout, and I have my todo list.   Nothing on my list is looking like very much fun today so my goal will be to get done and get home for a 3 day weekend.   Monday is a holiday for me and I'm having some people over Sunday afternoon so it will be a busy weekend but I will have Monday to rest up.   Here goes . .. .

Update 4pm . .. they are letting us leave early since it's a long weekend.   I am not that happy with my productivity today . . .I was late and by the time I really got started it was almost lunchtime, then went out to lunch and came back to an issue that required some unplanned work and will require a few hours tomorrow also, finally got back on track with my projects but didn't accomplish a lot.   I'm calling it a week and I'll start fresh on Tuesday.   I get a break for my birthday week, right?   I had a couple of very good days Monday and Tuesday, but a couple of below average days yesterday and today.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Jo

Checking in!

Inspirational read for the day:

Forgiving Ourselves

We would like to be perfect, and when we make mistakes, it is hard to forgive ourselves. If we do a distracting task that is not on our MIT or task list (or play list as one person wisely calls it), the resulting anger at our weakness may escalate a small slip into a full-scale time binge. When we are under pressure and act foolishly or say something unkind to someone close to us, we may punish ourselves by procrastinating more or by sinking into a black mood.

In order to get back on a positive track, we need to forgive ourselves and put the mistake behind us. It does no good to dwell on our weakness and rehash what we should have done and say "if only."

In PA, we become humble enough to admit that we will never be perfect. We strive for progress. Forgiving ourselves is necessary so that we may make a positive change.

As You forgive, may I forgive.

Guitarjenny Check In

This is my first check-in post...I'm going to try to make it uncomplicated.  Having few actual deadlines is harder for me...I have to make my own.  Since I don't feel good, I want to put things off until I feel better.  But I will do what I can for now.

MIT all day: stay focused on what I am doing.  I have a big, huge, giant decision that's waying on my mind...trying not to focus on it except when I've decided to focus on it.

9:30am   30-45 mins workout - then STOP (I love stretching...)

10:15am Eat Healthy Breakfast

10:30am Brush Teeth, Shower, etc.

11:00am Leave no later than 11:10 :)

11:30 - 12:20 class

12:30 - Meeting

1pm - Run Experiment

2pm - Processing

2:45pm - Study for L Test

4pm - work

I've had trouble getting started workiing out on time lately.  I'm going to finish getting dressed and be working out by 9:30.  Hope everyone has a successful, productive day!  Go!

Treading water

Feel a little odd today. Got pretty much caught up with my current work yesterday. BUT that means I should work on the big overdue projects today, and I am anxiously avoiding doing so.  The goal for today is to finish two big projects that are totally within striking distance of being wrapped up - and have been all week - except for the fear holding me back.  Alright, have to face them.  I will use the approach that worked well for me yesterday on current cases.

Goal 1: 2 x 30 min focus sessions, back-to-back, one on each project (day tot: 1 hr)

Goal 2: 15 minute break

Goal 3: 2 x 30 min focus sessions (day tot: 2 hrs)

Goal 4: 15 minute break

Goal 5: 2 x 30 min focus sessions (day tot: 3 hrs)

Goal 6: Lunch

Goal 7: 2 x 30 min focus sessions (day tot: 4 hrs)

Goal 8: 15 minute break

Goal 9: 2 x 30 min focus sessions (day tot: 5 hrs)

Goal 10: 15 minute break

Goal 11: 2 x 30 min focus session) (day tot: 6 hrs)

Goal 12: 15 minute break

Goal 13: 2 x 30 min focus sessions (day tot: 7 hrs)

Goal 14: Leave work

In truth, I will be content if I can get 5 or 6 hour total hours of focused work, since unexpected interruptions may occur, or stress may become hard to ignore, necessitating a more extended decompression than the scheduled 15 minute breaks. It's also hard for me to stick precisely to the schedule. If I can't get either project entirely wrapped up today, that's okay, too, as long as I am moving forward and can finish this weekend. I do not want to start yet another week with these things hanging over me. If I get rid of these 2, then 3 overdue big projects will remain.  Back to report.

Innertruth 10:05 check-in

A work commitment, a conference and the flu prevented me from posting over the past week or so.

Hasn't been a good week for me. One work project fell through (I don't know why) and someone didn't show up for an appointment she scheduled becasue she was delayed. No apology yet.

I've been promised work from these clients and nothing comes about. If I had a job or more better paying clients I wouldn't give these jerks the time of day.

I need to get back on track.

10:15 - 10:45 - Pay VISA, answer emails, email Lisa

10:45 - 11:00 - call Leticia

11:00 - 11:15 - elert

2:00 - 5:00 - update PA, prospect for clients

5:00 - 6:00 - run

6:00 - 7:00 - wash dishes, hand laundry
