 HAPPY SUNDAY!

Pyrotecher - Back on the Board + CI 7Feb2010

I'm checking in today for the first time after being away too long. I think I last checked in mid-April last year. It wasn't my intention to disappear from the group. I think I got to a point where I felt I needed to spend more time directly acting on my development needs.

So much for that. I've had a few victories over the past 10 months but the procrastination issues - and the consequences from them - loom just as large as ever. Looks like I need to accept that there is no "cure" for procrastination and that I have to use all my tools all the time... just as I would in dealing with other types of addictive behavior.

I do come back to the group with one resolution, though. I must be mindful to not let my time online delay me from the tasks I am facing. That's hard to do when you find a forum that offers a sympathetic ear, but I have to remember that the main thing is to get the reinforcement then right back in the game.

So for (what's left of today) I've got some shopping and a list of evening chores to deal with. The measure of my success is getting the essentials done and to bed by a reasonable time. Too easy to stay up to ridiculous hours trying to do too much or because I'm forced to by waiting too late to start. So off I go...

Hello Everyone!

I am checking in to focus on my reports, again.  I have 2 due by tomorrow am at the latest and managed to put them off until now.

I have 6  due by Thursday and am praying that I don't put them all off until the last minute.  So, off to the chatbox to get moving!

Inkling checking in

Love your puppy pic Lucky!!! It really cheered me up.

All yesterday and most of today on the internet. Feeling like I'm not living, just killing time. Came into work to take care of an IT problem while no-one is on the server.

  • Fix server performance problem
  • Answer email from boss
  • Go Home
  • Mend clothes

Journey 1 pm

Good morning  uh afternoon!  I never checked in yesterday, got up fairly early and out to run a number of errands and visit mom.   When I got home I found my grandson here so that kept us all busy the rest of the day.  Had his parents over for dinner and man I love them but I was glad to see them leave.

I was avoiding the computer this morning but I'm allowing myself some limited time on it this afternoon between chores.  I tend to spend my spare time playing video games, which is fine sometimes, but I would really rather spend that time reading, organizing, or just relaxing.   It's easy to waste a lot of time on video games!

So far today I've exercised (yoga video), had quiet time, cleaned the guest bathroom and made a start on the mountain of laundry.   I'm taking a short break now to post my calories on calorie king and goof around for a few minutes, then off to do more laundry.  toodles!

 Show up (done)

Not in a good mood, teenage boys pressing my buttons, seems like the more I do, the more they want to walk all over me. I just want to quit, what's the point. I need self care today and make myself happy and not take my anger out on them.

(Hope/Jo)

Thank you. I did get through yesterday and said and did nothing that I regret today, thank God!

I did not procratinate on remaining calm, even though this feels like a POW camp.

re: teenage boys

Hang in there, teenage boys can really get on your nerves!   Mine is 35 now but when he was 17-20ish he used to make me SO ANGRY.   I remember once he told me that he shouldn't have to do any housework because it was my job.   I thought I was literally going to explode.   I am not sure I dealt with that in the healthiest possible way, but at least I refrained from murdering him and he is now a responsible husband and father to two adorable kids.

Lucky CI

Horrible morning of procrastination. Housemate called with bad financial news and instead of being galvanised into activity to save the day, I spent the morning on youtube and NCIS fansites.

I need to be out of the house in about 1/2 hr and I have to take Christmas decs down and at least make a stab at clearing the kitchen before that. And dragging a brush through my hair would be nice too. Arg!

Hey Lucky

Sorry to hear...I've been there & have had the same reaction..also know how you feel...I'm in your corner and HP will provide (and that 's what I've been telling myself too).

HUGS.
