Hi All & Every,
Have been freaking out about finding a job. I've been looking a year now, what makes me think now that my employer knows I'm looking and is looking too (vigorously) I'll be able to find one now? It keeps going through my head, HP didn't bring me this far to drop me..but the anxiety fear and also relief (at leaving this position) creeps in. I want to keep these feelings from my husband, and bring them here. He is being uncharacteristically supportive, and I'm grateful, but he doesn't need to hear my anxiety, when he has enough of his own.
My employer is allowing me to take half days to look, and even though I want to clean up as much of my mess as I can before I leave, my anxiety is pushing me at present. My plan is to leave work early on Monday. We have a main street in my neighborhood, with lots of restaurants, so I was thinking, with resume in hand, of going to each one and applying for a waitressing position. I am also a compulsive overeater, so the thought fills me with fear on that level, so I hope for the best and not to lose my precious abstinence, if working in this environment. The next step I don't know, but at least I have a plan for Monday.
-have 2 hard emails to send out by tomorrow
-look into elder care insurance, to not have to end up in a nursing home (Phew this one has been on my mind forever)
-look into & get insurance for dog care business
-look into comments about my site and incorporate them into my site.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and thanks for all your support!!

Ew *hugs* Good luck!
BTW I've worked in a restaurant, and in my experience you definitely don't get to grab random food from the kitchen while you're working, so you won't be at constant risk of snacking. The worst that might happen is they offer you a free dinner as part of your job. If that happens, you can say right at the start that you're really into healthy eating (not 'I'm on a diet' because some people read that as 'please tempt me') and then pick out the two healthiest dinner options on the menu, and say they look great and that you'll eat those. Or if it's all unhealthy ask for something without the mayo/butter/whatever. Result: a healthy dinner put in front of you every work night with no thought or effort required!
Thanks Lucky for your ESH - gives me strength!!

OK, today has been a nice relaxed day so far, but I need to get some work done.
So far, I've been to deacon mtg, called my bf, taken about an hour to surf the web.
Tasks for today are:

*Finish pset
*Finish and post tutorial answers
*Grocery shopping+clean kitchen
*Call home
OK, going to go get a pack of gum, then I'll work on pset for 30 min, then I'll start genotyping and work on pset some more

Hi pro buddies,
Wish I were in England, too!
I don't have to do anything this weekend - I was expecting to be away & had to cancel due to weather, so I'm considering myself "on vacation" even though I'm home.
Going to take myself out to a movie later. Meanwhile, if I do happen to get anything done, it's all gravy.
Here are some things I might do if I feel like it (or not.)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Love this post, Falcon - we can ALL take a leaf out of your book!

Well, what I actually did was none of the above! I read for a while, took a nap, went to see a movie, then went to a diner.
Which was exactly what I needed! I feel relaxed & restored. I'm glad to have had a "mini-vacation." (Tomorrow, back to the chores!)

Hey Rexroth
I know it's hard to do, I am trying to leave the old lists in the past...beating ourselves up seems to hinder our progress.
Kind regards.

I did post a CI yesterday, or at least thought I did, but when I looked later it wasn't there! Must have made a mistake somewhere...
I'm feeling quite internet-addicted at the moment and have been puzzling on ways to break this without falling into 'giving myself over-strict rules that I then break'. Current plan: Only check email and social sites once a day. We'll see how that goes!
Edit: This is disturbingly hard. 2 major checks today plus some glancing. And that's a BIG drop from how much I usually do. Addicted much!?
Today's list: (Which I suspect I'll have to edit later for things I've forgotten)

Hey Lucky
It seems to me how this process is working, and it doesn't always work (unfortunately), is that a little progress is made until we gain mastery. Cheers for making progress on searching the internet....!!
Kind regards.
