X read, grade student A's paper X meet with research assistant X finish letter of recommendation for student A X grade another paper X finish letter for another student
To do:
* grade another paper * rewrite one lecture * grade fourth paper * finish outlining article as written * grade fifth paper * rewrite other lecture * call realtor
First of all, I've changed the order; I really need to get a lecture re-written. Also, I need to intersperse these with home stuff, because I'm at home. Do dishes, get kid in bed, etc. Finally, I would have gotten more done, but I had to interrupt my afternoon and drive my wife home from work; she was sick. And it's not like I'm 100% myself.
So, here's a different list:
* do dishes * grade another paper * get child ready for bed (brush teeth, pajamas) * rewrite one lecture * grade fourth paper * finish outlining article as written
If I get this much done tonight, it will be amazing.

It's 10:16 a.m. and haven't gotten much done. Procrastinated, mostly. Here's the to do list:
* read, grade student A's paper * meet with research assistant * finish letter of recommendation for student A * grade another paper * finish letter for another student * grade another paper * finish outlining article as written * grade fourth paper * rewrite one lecture * grade fifth paper * rewrite other lecture * call realtor
Note how I've broken up pretty much all of these tasks into small chunks, especially paper grading. I plan to grade five papers a day; that gives me eight days, and that will seem relatively reasonable to the students.

I've noticed your to do lists have been smaller, and I hope it's working well for you. In the past I was often amazed at how much you had listed and I really admire how well you did. It seems like when I make big lists, the easier it is to be thrown into a tizzy when something doesn't work. One thing about this forum is we can always keep adding goals through the day. Be well my friend.
Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about being thrown into a tizzy. I'm slowly learning... less is more.
Thanks for the encouragement Lark. Blessings to you.

I'm a bit disorganised this morning but I'm getting on with stuff.
Feeling a bit muddled. I've been feeling well for the past few days and it takes some getting used to. I didn't go to the evening meeting having put off working on the files all day. I then paniced and have worked on them this evening. I have a letter finished and posted which I've been delaying finishing for a few weeks also I know what I need to write in two other letters which I might do tomorrow. So now for bed.
