Lucas' weekly goals journal

Hi there PA friends!

I'm new to the forum, having just found you guys, but feeling very positive and sooo happy to have met a few of you on Zoom. Some of the areas where I procrastinate are daily tasks, like exercise and meditation, but others are more long-term things where I need to keep myself accountable on a weekly basis. As a starting point, I'm making a list here of the things I want to progress on (but which which I've been procrastinating on for literally years...

Weekly goals

1. My business vision. I work in economic policy, but also do video and motion graphic work on the side. i want to develop a successful video and motion graphic company in time, so as a metric i'm setting myself the target of dedicating 10 hours per week to my 'business vision'. This will include sending marketing emails every week, along with client work and upskilling.

2. Weights. I'm pretty consistent about exercise - I run four or five times a week... but I've been intending (for literally, like a decade) to mix this up with strength training. I want to be a fitter stronger version of me :) and as I'm now 46, endless jogging only gets me so far.

3. Photography: I love photography but I never bother myself to actually do it(!). So I'm committing to carrying my camera with me each day and trying to get one 'good' photo each week.

4. Social challenge. So another important area where I have lost out to procrastination is in my social life. I tend to isolate myself too much (don't worry, I do have friends!), but I have a real tendency to hide away in the 'safety' of my apartment. So I want to challenge myself to get out of my 'social comfort zone' at least a few times a week. This might include making outreach calls to friends in other recovery programs (in fact that's one of my daily tasks), striking up conversations with strangers, speaking French with people I don't know too well.

I'm going to check in here each Sunday to keep track of how I fare each week in sticking to these targets and getting them done!

Thanks!

Lucas
