It's been a morning of feeling guilty & stuck. Just found a brief approach that seems surprisingly good (http://www.wikihow.com/Overcome-Procrastination-Using-Self-Talk & I'm sure I've read it elsewhere): change from this self-talk: “I have to finish this important task. It should already be done by now and I just need to do it.” to this self-talk: “I choose to start this task with a small, imperfect step. I’ll feel terrific and have plenty of time for fun!” OK, so this last sentence isn't quite right for me. How about, "I'll feel good and have time to do things I love." Much better. But I can feel that I still don't want to start. Will post this & then go to chatbox.

To do:
Review other SNT book re: trustee/conservator/guardian relationship
Decide whether to call trust atty

Look at KB records whether I have Dr R stuff from 4-8/13
Call TB re: KB records
Call BMC ER

Done:
-called partner & helped him deal w/a logistical issue
-emailed DB re: setting up monthly mtg
-listened to gratitude meditation
-do T.W. on thought re: screwing up due to procrastination
-got son to school on time
-Look at questions re: SNT
-Check to see if I have SNT with me - I don't

Not a bad start. managed to avoid falling into too much of procras hole this morning, mainly by not switching my phone on til I went in the shower (I listen to podcasts in the bathroom!) although I did choose to surf on the iPad  at breakfast and then on my phone once I turned it on (in the bathroom? yes I know, I know) I have a strange list of things to do, but I know I can get into it once I've started. It's just a matter of staying on task and dealing with the urge to distract myself.
Today I have already:
  • Had breakfast
  • put the DW on
  • started emptying the drainer
  • written a to do list
  • Had a shower 
Today I will: 
  • Text SD
  • Email I
  • Plan W YE (SA/Sage YE/Mgment Acc first half?)
  • W work done 3 40 min pom although second I went down a rabbit hole. Worked hard this afternoon, but more work than I thought so will stop now.
  • Invoicing
  • Assignment
  • Draft for 30 mins on first BP
  • unload DW
  • Finish unloading drainer
  • Washing up
  • Have lunch
  • Leave the house even if only for 5 mins round block
  • Text Jf
  • Text Jn
  • Budget
  • cancel DDs and email them
  • update F notes to reflect cancelled items
  • MC
  • P work if available and rest done (unlikely, but possible.... always possible)

Hope you're doing well today. Thanks for your reply. When in the check in forum, we usually avoid replying directly to user's posts because once you reply to it, it means that post cannot be edited by the user updating through the day. Instead, people will often reply with a new comment, putting the user's name in the subject as I have done here.

It's not the end of the world of course, but just so you know for future.

Not much good at that

Thanks Unstick-ing but I'm not much good at resting. I can fret or waste time or worry but to rest would be good. My body is healing and I feel a lot better this evening but not yet well. I have so much I want to do and it is a matter of wanting to do not feeling I should do it.

Day off angst....

I admit that I am powerless over my procrastination and debt and that my life had become unmanageable.  I came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God. I humbly ask God to remove my shortcomings. I pray constantly and unceasingly only for knowledge of God's will for me today and the power to carry that out.  

Its not about the tasks - its about listening to the moment and going with the flow of the spirit - today and NOW.

Its not about the money, its about listening to the simplicity of need and contentment - today and NOW.

I am quite stressed as ground my jaw all night.

Important Tasks:

no tv

no internet browsing

I did make effective use of about third to half of today so I am grateful for today.

Ate healthy! Great swim! Great chat w sis & mum, c,s,c & m! Good four hours of pharm.

 

I will now read study 1 more hour -only 108days until exam. As my sister says, got to go THROUGH!! No shortcuts or around.  Thanks to knitfisher for the comment 'urge for distraction' - my higher power can fight that urge for me.
