Hazyjane Saturday to-do, to not-to-do

Thanks for the starter Jalla, and for everyone who shows up and keeps this going.

I have started my new course and today I plan to write up notes I've taken in class, create a document for each module I'm doing, and start creating a bibliography of all the books I got out of the library, or already own, that I may get round to reading or at least referring to when I do my written assignments. Sounds sensible and logical and do-able, but it's getting myself to start that's always the worst/hardest part.

So, tempting though it is to do some much-needed HOUSEWORK (ironing!! I never iron!!), I am hereby declaring my intention to FOCUS on these study tasks:

  1. go through my scanty notes and prod my memory sufficiently to vomit some words onto a page.
  2. do that again for the other two classes.
  3. write up my 'log-book' for our practice session yesterday: either do this in a notebook by hand or create a blog to record it in.
  4. sort out my books and create a master bibliography that I can keep adding to.
  5. add some notes re the little I've managed to read so far.
I think that will take roughly two hours to do all that*, and I'll use the bursting technique in the chatroom to help me along.
Once I've accomplished those scholarly deeds I'll walk the dogs!!
Jane

*Two hours!!! Well, I don't know what I was thinking, but clearly I'm an optimist!!!

@ Un-stucking

Hi Un-stucking. (I love that name!) Wishing you all the very best on the journey ahead. it sounds like a GREAT plan of action for exams! i like the why question especially!

In solidarity

Jallaxo

Thanks!

Thanks for the thread and comments Jalla, mole and lennon - I realise that my last week has been discouraging, defeating and I've been acting powerless in the wrong ways.

I admit that I am powerless over my procrastination and debt and that my life had become unmanageable.  I came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God. I humbly ask God to remove my shortcomings. I pray constantly and unceasingly only for knowledge of God's will for me today and the power to carry that out.

Its not about the tasks - its about listening to the moment and going with the flow of the spirit - today.

Its not about the money, its about listening to the simplicity of need and contentment - today.

In my mind I can visualised me passing my exam in Feb & March.  How? lots of past questions and reading around the topics of revision. Cost? 2hours min each work day, 6hours min each non work day. What does this mean? no internet, no TV, no pfaffing - if its not a task, don't do it! Why? To be a better doctor.

Allowed tasks for today:

- cook healthy meal

- finish wrapping presents

- some form of exercise

-print out contract, handbook

No TV - read ragamuffin only.
