Thank God that i got all my work done on Sat for Sun morn. It went better than usual. I got decent sleep, but i can improve next time.

Also Thank God for a sign from God that he will keep me humble, keep me depending on him, without impacting the people i serve or the family i support. I've been praying for this a lot.

Tolerance

Practice tolerance.

Tolerate
our quirks, our feelings, our reactions, our peculiarities, and our
humanness. Tolerate our ups and downs, our resistance to change, and our
struggling and sometimes awkward nature.

Tolerate our fears, our
mistakes, our natural tendency to duck from problems, and pain.
Tolerate our hesitancy to get close, expose ourselves, and be
vulnerable.

Tolerate our need to occasionally feel superior, to
sometimes feel ashamed, and to occasionally share love as an equal.
Tolerate the way we progress - a few steps forward, and a couple back.

Tolerate
our instinctive desire to control and how we reluctantly learn to
practice detachment. Tolerate the way we say we want love, and then
sometimes push others away. Tolerate our tendency to get obsessive,
forget to trust God, and occasionally get stuck.

Some things we do not tolerate. Do not tolerate abusive or destructive behaviors toward others or ourselves.

Practice
healthy, loving tolerance of ourselves, said one man. When we do, we'll
learn tolerance for others. Then, take it one step further; learn that
all the humanness we're tolerating is what makes ourselves and others
beautiful.

Today, I will be tolerant of myself. From that, I will learn appropriate tolerance of others.

Good to be back and see some familiar names and many friendly PA people still proving that it works. It's been a year+ since I checked in but I've never forgotten this wonderful supportive fellowship. I've experienced much recovery since starting in PA years ago and I'm so grateful to pro for building this resource.

Approaching 1 year on new job, I can use some help growing to the next level in being more surrendered, more focused on Highest Presence (HP), and more skilled in my stewardship of time, space and energy. Monday:

- honestly acknowledge it will take me 45 minutes to pray, plan, prepare and pack lunch and dinner; do pet care, dress and eat; and stabilize J for the day.  Arise and move accordingly!

- honestly acknowledge it will take 45 minutes to drive to the first meeting, and schedule accordingly

- Type and email the edited article

- Go to gym after work

- be on time for Alanon meeting

- eat on time today; pray not to procrastinate meals

And now, acknowledging I can do nothing of the above if I do not get enough sleep to have good communion with my HP in the morning, I'm off to bed at a fairly reasonable hour! Hope to check in again sometime during the day Monday. Have a blessed PA Progress Day!

Thanks for another great starter, jalla. You are doing a wonderful service for PA. I often come here and read the starters even though I have not posted for a long time.

But today am thinking maybe it would be good to show up, not with a list, although I do have lists (ugghh). I have fallen off the wagon with paid work, so want to post the first 2 steps (I think that's about as many as I can manage today).

  1. I admit that I am powerless over compulsive procrastination, that my life has become unmanageable.
  2. I believe that a power greater than myself can restore me to sanity.

Thank you all for being here.
