I cleared my triple-starred task list! My history is, i set prio 1, 2, 3, tasks. Then i dont get the prio 1 done, and new tasks come on the list. And there are so many prio 1, i have to star the most important ones. But then there are so many starred tasks, i have double-star the most important ones. And then there are so many of those i have have to triple-star the really hi prio tasks. And this just keeps going and going until in desperation and fear i abandon the list and escape for a week or so.

But today, i cleared the 3-starred list. I still have a lot of 2-star items, but today represents recovery, at least partial.


Abstinence from unplanned time.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self. AA Big Book says to rely on God. Quoted in my bookmarks : scroll down to "AA Big Book on fears : relying on God not self-reliance:"

  • I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety of relying on God than to get things done.
    • "15 Points" point 5 says:
      5. Develop and rehearse a daily plan of thinking and acting by which you will live that day relying on God, regardless of what may upset you or how hard the old urge to rely on self may hit you.

      My Plan is this:

      2. Meditate for 5 min on the attributes of God

It's been 24days 00hrs 38min since i last relied on self. (6/10-6/13 10:45am overwhelmed with too many medium important tasks, no MITs; abs his: 14,50)


When we retire at night, we constructively review our day (BB).
  • Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid?
    - yes when k got upset that i disagreed
  • Do we owe an apology?
    - yes, Lord help me
  • Have we kept something to ourselves which should be discussed with another person at once?
  • Were we kind and loving toward all?
    - not when i got upset at k
  • What could we have done better?
    - not spent 1hr watching tv
    - not gotten upset myself
    - Relied on God
  • Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time?
    - yeah, when i let it get to me.
    - Just remember God and his Love of me and his Mercy toward me and his Forgiveness
  • Or, were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life?

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (everything i "did well" comes from god, either thru gifts he's given me or the way he's transformed me)

GETTING ALL MY 3-STARRED TASKS DONE.
Getting the P-task done.
Doing the hard financial task--it WAS actually as hard as i feared, worse, even. That's not usually the case.
