I am reminded today of some bible verses:

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self. AA Big Book says to rely on God. Quoted in my bookmarks : scroll down to "AA Big Book on fears : relying on God not self-reliance:"

THINGS I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER

i was bloody irritable all day today, got rly bad at one point. Could not stand it. I suspect this might be the irritability that comes with withdrawal symptoms.
I could have been faster in all my tasks today.

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (everything i "did well" comes from god, either thru gifts he's given me or the way he's transformed me)

I had the suckiest, on-plan day of my life. I do not believe i have ever had a day when i felt so little reward and satisfaction in my work--and kept working on-plan anyway.
Even tho i do not feel good at all, i intellectually know that this is a huge step forward in recovery. God has taught me thru the PA that my reward system is broken. God has been training me to keep going even when it sux. God has taught me thru many failures (i guess this is where those failures work out for my good) that i am not (was not) the kind of person who could persevere on a day when i felt like i did today. And yet a i did persevere. So god is installing a new nature into me. I am a lump of clay in the hands of the Potter and he is shaping me into a vessel that can hold his wisdom and strength.

Thank you mole for a beautiful starter. Some days I have simply forgotten that I can dance. 

I procrastinated badly this morning. I work outside the house normally on a monday, and I think the novelty overtook my obligation to work. I was watching educational videos, but at the very best I can see that as a duality. I was definately procrastinating, and lifting my spirit and feeding my mind was a by-product only of it. Not an excuse.

Today I am full of fear, but yet I am determined to make use of the time I have without feeling that I have not achieved enough. I cannot go back, I can only live in the present and by nature walk into the future. 

Today I have already: 

  • Had breakfast
  • Put washing on and put in dryer
  • Had a shower
  • Showed up at PA 

Today I will:

Work 5 mins at a time if I have to.  Know that most of the negative feelings I have right now about myself and the world are the direct result of worry due to procrastination. If you DO the thing, you REMOVE the power it has over you. If you FACE the FEAR you REMOVE the power it has over you. WORK today on taking the power back into your own hands where it belongs.

Take breaks - GET UP every single time

5 pm: Finished the list, plus called D. and did the laundry. So why don't I feel good?? Need to celebrate what I did accomplish and not focus on what still needs to be done!!!

Oh I love that starter Mole.SO True!!!! it is s a great mental image  ihave now of having a good ol' dance off in the rain!!!. For me it is all very serious too much of the time with not enough dancing - especially in the middle of a storm!. Thank you dear Mole for all that you are and for the lovely starter today.
