One of my all time favorites, first read it 10 years ago: What if:Letting Go of Worry Narch 25

What if we knew for certain that everything we're worried about today will work out fine? What
if . . . we had a guarantee that the problem bothering us would be
worked out in the most perfect way, and at the best possible time?
Furthermore, what if we knew that three years from now we'd be grateful
for that problem, and its solution?
What if . . . we knew that even our worst fear would work out for the best?
What
if . . . we had a guarantee that everything that's happening, and has
happened, in our life was meant to be, planned just for us, and in our
best interest?

What if . . . we
had a guarantee that the people we love are experiencing exactly what
they need in order to become who they're intended to become? Further,
what if we had a guarantee that others can be responsible for
themselves, and we don't have to control or take responsibility for
them?

What if . . . we knew the
future was going to be good, and we would have an abundance of resources
and guidance to handle whatever comes our way?

What if . . . we knew everything was okay, and we didn't have to worry about a thing? What would we do then? We'd be free to let go and enjoy life.

Today,
I will know that I don't have to worry about anything. If I do worry, I
will do it with the understanding that I am choosing to worry, and it
is not necessary.

This just isn't who I want to be anymore.  I'm going to write a vision of what I want:

Monday through Thursay (during school) I do not watch YouTube or other movie stuff.   I work at a job where I get the mentorship I need to in order to do proficient R & D. I am earning 32.21 per hour.

Daily: I work out at the gym or elsewhere once a day, no matter what time it is.

I come on time to work, appointments, meetings, I get 7-8 hours of sleep.

I brush my teet, floss, use listerine and a periodontic brush nightly.  I brush my teeth before I head out for the morning.

I do my homework for school.  I keep up with the reading, and am confident in my prospects, because of my consistent work and efforts.

Saturday:  I go to my twelve step meeting in Hollywood.

Sunday: I attend my PA meeting

Weekend or weekly: I call my sponsor for SLAA.  I take out the garbage.  I do the laundry.  I attend the chiropractor.  I see a massage therapist.

Mole's check-in

Thank you jalla, beautiful image.

It is three pm. My checking seem to be slipping more and more, also if I don't do my reflections at night I do feel exactly as unchecked in baggage might, abandoned on the platform, or more likely the concourse and without destination.

last week was so busy, I think I wiped myself out.

this morning I just had to sit in stillness. Exquisite day.

worked with good energy for two hours, ate late but healthy lunch.

now I am going to make myself  a pot of tea, take it outside and do Cc review.

THINGS I DID WELL TODAY

This morning - At last managed to gather thoughts, allow myself to be still. Learning slowly to tell the difference between procrastination and conscious time out, and between busyness and productive work.

clement ci - day 135 attempting abstinence, 55 from self

Abstinence from unplanned time.

  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do impulsively is write something on my todo list.
  • The one thing, the only thing, i can do off plan is recovery, something to maintain my sobriety, when tempted. I have come to believe that it is more important to maintain sobriety than to get things done.

Abstinence from relying on self.

We reviewed our fears thoroughly. We put them on paper, even though we had no resentment in connection with them. We asked ourselves why we had them. Wasn't it because self-reliance failed us? Self-reliance was good as far as it went, but it didn't go far enough. Some of us once had great self-confidence, but it didn't fully solve the fear problem, or any other. When it made us cocky, it was worse.

Perhaps there is a better way - we think so. For we are now on a different basis; the basis of trusting and relying upon God. We trust infinite God rather than our finite selves. We are in the world to play the role He assigns. Just to the extent that we do as we think He would have us, and humbly rely on Him, does He enable us to match calamity with serenity.

We never apologize to anyone for depending upon our Creator. We can laugh at those who think spirituality the way of weakness. Paradoxically, it is the way of strength. The verdict of the ages is that faith means courage. All men of faith have courage. They trust their God. We never apologize for God. Instead we let Him demonstrate, through us, what He can do. We ask Him to remove our fear and direct our attention to what He would have us be. At once, we commence to outgrow fear. p68 AA Big Book.
