Yesterday I had a much better day than I have had in a while. The key was to break the tasks down until I felt less resistance, and then to enforce controlled breaks. I tried to respond to feelings of being overwhelmed by formulating an even smaller task. When feeling overwhelmed I tried to stay with the feeling and not reach for distraction. I worked slowly but I did do work. Will try to do the same today.
To juggle today: Wake up kid; get her medicines into her; is she feeling better today? Work, exercise, meditate, read for class; read synopsis of book-club book on line b/c haven't read book; go to book club (fun!) Coaching at 11 AM. Check calendar for things I've let drop. Work deadline on Friday also, may have to be done at night on Thurs... OK, Go.
9:44am : it's been about 11h 14min since i last went off plan (that includes alm 9hr sleep).
It's been 1day 16h 14min since i last relied on self. That's the first time i've used "day" in that count (tho it's been slightly above 24h before). I was strongly tempted both ways in bed this morning. Now i have to plan the day.

10:13am : It's been 1 min since i last went off plan. I dont even know how it happened. Just mind wandered, probably shying away from planned task.

2:30pm : it's been 1 min since i last went off plan. I checked my email only for an employment message and got distracted by others.
It's been 1 min since i last relied on self. Cuz i was relying on self, not god, for that email i started replying to. I should go back and rely on god, when that email is on plan.
10:02pm : it's been 20min since i last went off plan.
It's been 2day 4h 34min since i last relied on self. But i was really close there a few times. it is encouraging that God has done this to my life. time to pre-plan tmrw.
Took yesterday off to rest up from the weekend. I caught up on laundry and finished up the taxes. I have to pay so I won't file them until April but they are ready to go. It's amazing that taxes used to be something I put off until April 14 and now I get them done in February! Thanks PA!
I'm also learning that REST is important at my advanced age and there is no point in pretending otherwise, so I'm learning to SCHEDULE rest time and not even feel the need to apologize for it.
Today, back to work, working from home today. I have several meetings today so my task will be to fit in real work around the meetings. Now I will exercise, have breakfast, and make todo list. I will endeavor to complete these tasks before the first meeting at 9 am. I'll check back after the 9 am meeting.
Update 11:45 Two meetings done, the second of which required some preparation. Right now, make a decision about w, then take a short lunch break.
Update 2:15 Third and final meeting complete. Now work on project M for one hour. Setting timer.
Update 4:30 Worked on Project M two hours but didn't get that much done, kinda frustrated and spinning wheels a bit. Anyway, moving on. I have not had my quiet time yet today, I will do that right now.
