"I want to believe that life isn't full of darkness,
no matter how painful and hard the rain may beat down on me.
Even if storms come to pass, the sun will shine again."
-- Paraphrasing a quote from the character "Yuki Sohma"
(the original wording was written by author Natsuki Takaya)
- "When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high, and don't be afraid of the dark.
- At the end of a storm, there's a golden sky, and the sweet silver song of a lark.
- Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain, though your dreams be tossed and blown.
- Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart, and you'll never walk alone."
-- Originally from the 1945 Broadway musical "Carousel", written by Rodgers and Hammerstein

Calypso's check-in
Grateful to you for being here. My policy for this evening, 1 section per hour. Finish a minimum of 1 section. 3 hrs to go with short breaks in between. Reminding myself to stay with right motivation, and be in service of hp, doing hp will, not mine, getting my spiritual fulfliment from my work as I complete this task.

"Surrender and Take the Next Right Action"
Thanks for the great starter, movingalong.
I made a decision late last night that today I was TRULY going to surrender my will and life over to my higher power.
I toyed with the idea of taking a break from all 12-step programs, not sure if they've been helping me, based on my results (or lack thereof). But I know that with or without recovery programs, I still have my Higher Power and always will, and "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 .... I am letting God work through me today, I find no other viable solution. I willingly surrender to the Holy Spirit who will take care of me today in every way for my full benefit. Amen.

Thanks MA for the beautiful starter. helps me to remember Footsteps in the Sand poem
"One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
one beloning to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life there is
only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me."
The Lord replied "My precious, precious child,
I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffereing,
when you see only one set of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."
