Please do not leave advice or feedback.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

My commitment for this fall (through finals -- which means final exams for the classes I'm in) is the following:

Monday (12am) through Friday (3pm), I do not watch YouTube or Netflix or any other video streaming on the Internet.  If I watch television at the gym while running on the treadmill or working out on an elliptical trainer, that's fine.   This does not involve holidays, such as black friday or Thanksgiving.  The reason I'm doing this is I need sleep and I need time to study and work out.

Kodos--7:45

Okay, my only tasks today are to spend 20 minutes writing right now and 30 minutes at the end of the day preparing for tomorrow.

Other than that, it's church, the beach and spending time with my husband. So no more Internet today!

Salamander's check in - Sun 9 Sep '12

Thank you to mole for starting the thread.

At the moment, it looks like I am holding off a migraine at sufficient distance for a To Do list to be practicable today. So, back to my experiment with collating things in groups of three...

 1151

  • Breakfast
  • Skincare
  • Dust sitting room

Not a successful day in some ways. But precious little procrastination going on. So maybe not so bad after all.

Finding a way CI

Another great starter, Mole!

The weekend seems to have flown by. Tomorrow instead of starting work projects I am going down to the city - 3 hours drive away - to spend some time supporting my mother who is in hospital again. I know in my heart I am doing the right thing, but still feel guilty that I won't be working! Part of this is anxiety over getting my next project/s done in reasonable time, but part of it is just crazy! Hope I can let this go - it's just not possible for me to do both at once.

Won't have internet access except on my phone so see you all again on Wednesday!

Wishing everyone a great week! :)

All the best Findingaway

I know just how you feel! I lived so far away from my mum that I ended up just moving to her country for 6 months. Being 3 hours away is in many ways harder as you are splitting your life in two. As far as guilt goes I  think mine came from the fact that although I knew  I was doing the right thing I felt like a sham when other people commended me for it because deep down I was relieved that I had an excuse for avoiding my own responsibilities. And it WAS crazy. What I was doing there was a farharder task and greater responsibility than anything here!  I often seem to take on big responsibilities to avoid little ones...

Any way, good luck with it all.

Mole

Thanks Mole!

Thank you so much for your kind and understanding words, which meant a lot to me at a difficult time (which is far from over!).

I wanted to reply earlier but can't seem to log in from my smart phone, which is all the internet I've had down here until today.

Things have not gone according to plan and I still don't know when they will discharge my mother from hospital so I can take her home with me for a week or so (new plan).

At least I can access this forum now as I try to get some work done!
