Yoh - Monday 03/09

I just saw the tuesday check-in is already started, still monday here though :D

I had to work today, till 14.00 but after that I failed to get a lot done. It is now 19.30 and still need to study a lot. Exam is wednesday and I want to do more exercises this time.

So check-in list:

- put computer and phone in car outside (major distractions away)
- make dinner + eat
- go through exercises ch 21 - 22 (1h)

- read theory ch 23 (30mins) [started]
- exercises ch 23 (30mins)
- read theory ch 24 (30mins)
- exercises ch 24 (30mins)
- general exercises

Writing it down already makes me more realistic about my timing. I'll need to use my time well, so I better get started!

See you all later when I'll come check off what I've got done.

EDIT: checking things off makes it look like I didn't do much actually, but in reality I have been working almost non stop. I did extra reading on ch22, definitely necessary.

Replies not needed but always welcome.

Kodos 8:00

Not a good start to the day--spent an hour surfing the Internet. Will have to make it up by sticking to my schedule. Haven't planned out my day yet, but I will spend 8-10 following my regular morning routines and then make a plan for the rest of the day.

Kodos--10:40 update

Got some writing done, but was really limping along, half-writing, half-procrastinating.

BUT, I have made a schedule:

10:40-11:00 get ready to leave house

11-2 BH and shopping

2-email

3-paperwork

4-project

5-10 evening routines

I'll check in about 2:00.

Good luck everybody!

Kodos--3:45

Spent a little more time than I thought on errands, and also spent half an hour surfing, so my total today is up to...1-1/2!!! How is that possible?

Anyway, onward with a revised schedule:

3:45-email

4:30-paperwork

5:15 start evening routines

Keep plugging everybody!

Salamander's check in - Mon 3 Sep 12

In a rough order of priority with the "Must Do Today" at the top.

Starting at 1330

  • Get washed up and dressed to go out
  • Print out Excel sheet to take with me
  • Pay CC bill!!!!!!!!!!
  • Buy cat chicken, yogurt and butter
  • Cook a healthy and nutritious meal
  • Change cat trays
  • Rubbish out
  • (Speak to AC or AA) - Also left voicemail for AA
  • Hoover upstairs
  • Paperwork

1342 - I decided that at 16 items my list was too long and I would be sabotaging myself if I tried to complete it all. So edited my list more realistically.

1741 - Starting to procrastinate again! Until 1800 on Facebook is OK and reasonable. After that it's back to the salt mines for me!

1807 - OK, now I start the list again.

1832 - And realise I need a cup of caffeinated tea before I am going to achieve anything meaningful. Also realising that taking the hoover upstairs means it's ready for when I do hoover there, but that probably won't happen today.

1943 - Dinner is simmering away. As usual, there is more for tomorrow or to freeze if wanted. Not feeling bad about imminent decision to defer the hoovering upstairs because the place is getting more attention every day I check in with PA and overall the trend is visibly moving in the right direction. I am horribly impatient, something I must learn to adapt a bit to my physical limitations too. I bet there's something in the 12 Steps about that somewhere...

2129 - Logging out here. It's been a good day, although I am surprised that (even after knocking so many items off my To Do list) I didn't do everything left on it. Hey ho. I need to underschedule even more than I realised.

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." (Anais Nin)

Monday

  • bibliography

ps can't work out how to go back and cross things out when i have done them.  it does it when i comment but when i post the crossing out disappears, could it be cos i have a mac?

@susiesue re: unable to cross things out

Normally, you should be able to edit your own post, as long as your post has zero replies (from you or anyone else).

It sounds like you were able to edit your post, but your formatting changes didn't take?

I don't know the answer.

You could click on the forums button at the top of this screen, and then go to the "tech help" area which is called "Site Questions, Problems, and Updates".

Then click on "post new forum topic" to start a new thread with your question.

Thanks very much movingalong...

... I have followed your suggestions straight away - no leaving it until tomorrow and then forgetting.  I am new to posting - am usually a lurker - so it takes a bit of getting used to.

 E.BE.

EleanorBE Monday - how I did.

Check work mail and reply where possible (and quick)

Put P phone date in diary

Do PA check in list

Go swimming

Go to library

Read through chapter four,- didn't exactly do this. Read through a bit of it then started marking references.

get books,

do refs. - did spend all the time I had working on this but didn't finish it.

At lunch time - take a quick walk

Come home and decide what to cook for Wed night

Make shopping list.

Meet G at station

Go shopping.

Write to all TA/Cs and K about lead up to teaching. - Realized I didn't have all the addresses for this so wrote to someone and asked for them. Will do it tomorrow

Not too bad a day but a bit slow. Hadn't been swimming for over a week, partly due to stomach upset, partly due to procrastination - so I'm glad I went but it really wiped me out and my stomach's not quite ready for coffee again yet so I was nearly dropping off at library table by 4.30.

I think I /really/ need to read the whole chapter in one sitting to decide what really needs doing to it.

E.BE.

Somu's Monday 3 Sept

Good meeting yesterday evening. It's an old cliche, but true: A problem shared is a problem halved. Very supportive to find oneself surrounded by like-minded people willing to share and help. And so to today:

1. Mindmap this week's early priorities

2. Daily check-in

3. Start today's time log & maintain throughout

4. Email PW about 2 things

5. Send poster for ok

6. Chase N/K for contract

7. Chase mailing opportunities x3

8. Revisit mindmap for Phase 2.

Have a good day everyone.

Somu's update

Today's really important lesson: Not 'must do'; not 'should do'; but 'I choose for myself to do, because I want the rewards that will follow....'

1. Mindmap this week's early priorities

2. Daily check-in

3. Start today's time log & maintain throughout

4. Email PW about 2 things

5. Send poster for ok

6. Chase N/K for contract

7. Chase mailing opportunities x3

8. Revisit mindmap for Phase 2.

Hope you've had a good day.

tila - Mon

After the second round of antibiotics, DD is feeling better. I was so stressed out this week, could hardly get any studying done. Need to stop making excuses and learn how to turn off the emotions.

Decided to plan Monday early.

  • Wake up around 6.
  • RC - review 27, do/r 28.
  • LG - review 27, do @ least 1.
  • LR - do 2 sections - find out which one.

Welcome Newcomers!

:)

Mole's check in

Hello everyone - welcome to a bright new day!

Thank you Movingalong for starting the thread. I WILL get the hang of it but was fiddling for so long I could tell I was putting off other things.

Today is a full on day so I am not so likely to procrastinate. However I a writing this in my dedicated work time instead of before it

I agree with Eleanor that is an idea to at least have done one thing before checking in. But I also think working up the list the night before might be an idea, so it doesn't become a replacement activity on the day itself.

So review of August writing process,

9-12 writing - roughing out scene

12-12.30 CC and lunch (sounds a bit rushed )

12.30 walk to town, meet E catch ferry

2-5 exhibition

5.30 - stay in town or come home to eat?

Find card for S if possible

Study blue line for PBM

7.15 ringing

Mole at bed time

This was a full on day with no opportunity for procrastination - except now... Because going to bed is something I can p ut off until the cows come home (or are ready for their morning milking).

BE IN BED BY 11 Innocent

Mole - re start post for Daily Check-in

If you click "enable rich-text" at the bottom of the message box, it's super-easy to make your message look "fancy" even if it's simple. For example, this only took me as long to do as it took to type:

Good Morning!!!! Smile

@Mole, sending encouragement
