There are free men with the spirit of a slave,
and slaves whose spirit is full of freedom.

He who is true to his inner self is a free man,

while he whose entire life is merely a stage
for what is good and beautiful in the eyes of others, is a slave.

- "A procrastinator's work is never done."

katia's tuesday evening

Hi everyone. I have been such a flake!

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday, but it went surprisingly well. I had been procrastinating it or about 2.5 years! I was so scared, but I got IV sedation and don't remember a thing lol.

I obviously need to rest and everything, but there's one important thing I'd like to do tonite. I lost my calculations to a lab I was working on and I'd like to redo them and be back where I was two weeks ago. I'd like to have the report in by the end of the week.

MIT- -lab calculations

Things I've already done
-Went to bank
-took pills/took care of self
-paypal'd the person
-contacted bursar's office

Other things
-call Amy (thursday?)
-upload picture
-email picture and price to person
-small amount of tidying

elvira's evening

Must have done too much yesterday and have had to spend most of the day in bed :(

So I'm having a night off and will just

  • run the dishwasher
  • ring my sister
  • and look out the paperwork I need to do, with a view to doing it tomorrow
    • road tax
    • CPZ questionnaire
    • voting registration

All that was much easier and quicker than I thought! I keep finding that. :)

READING FOR DAY

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is the lightning that does the work.

  —Mark Twain

Thunder demands our attention. From the ear-splitting boom overhead to the faint rumble in the distance, it is an impressive part of nature. Yet, it is the lightning that discharges electricity from one cloud to another, or to the earth.

We are sometimes like thunder. We may shout our intentions to family members, or quietly tell our dreams to friends. No matter how we say it, it is the ability to follow through that is most important. When we've completed what we've set out to do, we will feel a sense of satisfaction and energy. With this energy, and the knowledge we can finish what we set out to do, we will make our dreams come true.

What is left incomplete that I can finish today?

Time zone

Hypatia, It's not that I'm an such an early riser. My time zone is earlier to anyone west of me Smile (this means earlier to Europe and America) so I'm predicting I'll often be the first to open the trhead.

Not sure I understood what you wrote about the "ages..."(English is my second language), but I understood you submitted it before deadline. Well down and hope it will lead you towards a healthier, happier life.

Good luck on the exams! I'm sure you'll do well.

thanks Roab

if you change "ages" to "a long time" it might make more sense.  So far this year I've had to request extensions for 6 out of 8 assignments.

H.

Sounds familiar

I understand. Me too, had to ask for an extension on most of mine (and sometimes a double extension)

Plans for today

I'm not sure every group member has permission to start the
daily check-in thread, but while most of you are still snoozing in the US or
other places around the world I'm wide awake and want to make my daily
commitment. Hope it's ok (let me know if not).

I wanted them in bed by 7:00-7:30 the went to bed at 8:30

Tidy the house up (daily routine - dishes
, laundry, organize, sweep)
Read Psalms for 20 min.

I'm grateful for delivering the paper at 3:00 AM. I can
breathe now.
I'm grateful that G-d knew I needed some sleep so my kids only woke up at 9:00,
giving me enough time to get up, shower and put a smile on my face when they
woke up. I got 5 full hours of sleep when I expected to get not more than 3.
I'm grateful for that.
