T-200 Walks for 2012: Recycler

Hi!

Reclaiming my health. My puppy Goldie is now big enough to go on longer Exercise Walks. Today is the first day that Goldie and I walked 3 miles. I had to keep her on a short leash so she wouldn't sled-dog like usual. She kept up and did great. I commit to doing 199 similar walks for 2012, and will try to CI each time here after I finish.

A couple of years ago I became ill, and medication caused a large metabolism drop. I was able to keep my exercise up for a while, but became too fatiqued from the medication. I went from being a 5-day-a-week gym rat and weekend cyclist, to not exercising at all the last 1.5 years, due to being sleepy and fatiqued on the medication. Coming out of mild winter weather, I am feeling strong enough to start Walking again.

T-193 through T-175 Walks: done :)

Hi!

I had started daily walking for exercise again about April 27, but it has taken me this many days/weeks to remember to check in ;) During the last 20 or so days, my dog and I have walked 18 times. Prior to that, for a number of weeks, doggie had some health issues, then I had some health issues, but we both seem ok now for regular, usually even daily 3-mile walks.

Joining a Senior Center is another reason I haven't checked in as much. Having a place to go each day, has helped me stay more on track with my mail-sorting and other activities. I don't know if I will need to do a regular check-in each day, but I hope to get in the habit of doing some exercise check-ins to help me acknowledge I'm getting back in the swing of things.

T-193.5 Walk: Done! :)

Did partial walk today.

Have made it through: time change, company visit, puppy situations, cold snap in the weather, getting taxes done, medical appts & tests, etc.

Today, what I did right: up at 5:30, put on exercise clothes, walked puppy, fed puppy, ate Part 1 of breakfast. At 6:30, discovered it was raining. Found umbrella. Found hat. Started walking. It was ok, but raining harder than I thought, and dark. Didn't walk the full way, but at least I went out. Partial effort is better than no effort, so I am giving myself half-credit as a ramp-up plan ;)
