Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Been folowing through with my ground rules, because simply
not stalking is not enough in order to get and feel healthy. The healthy boundary I established for myself on Wednesday:
no video-streaming or DVD-watching Monday through Wednesday (that means not using
YouTube, vimeo, dailymotion, netflix in order to stream videos) I
won't die, it's just three days a week.
Perhaps I should even reward myself, if I keep my promises to myself. Yes, sounds like a good idea.
Things I would like to do, whether or not I can actually do them, so
that I can keep in mind what my goals are:(it's in blue if I attended to
it today)
1) to commit to 30 minutes of studying per day for school, using my clock to time myself and get started
2) exercise for 30 minutes each day, in order to start my goal of doing a running plan, so that I can do the 5K in May.
3) avoid skin-picking and pulling
4) Figure out if I can still get credit for past course work
5) fix my sleeping schedule, and show up on time for my classes.
6) attain the right thesis adviser for me
7) take the GRE's again
8) Get a job that works with my school schedule and enables me
to feel financially secure and independent, preferably in my industry
of computing or in math, the area of my research. (Applied to 23 jobs.) I'm convinced that if I apply to ten jobs a day for thirty days, come on time for my interviews and study for those interviews, then I WILL get a job. This week I'm working on the swing tutorial, b/c this interview is on Java: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/start/about.html
9) Brush and floss my teeth before bed, and sleep in my bed at night. It takes about an hour to do this.
10) Go to one OSPA or PA meeting, one SLAA meeting and one CoDA meeting
per week. (I think it's enough to go to four meetings per week, even
though I'm in four programs.)
11) Read my affirmations and goals, especially my goals, because it helps me to know where I'm going.
I'm going to forget all my fail'ed attempts at beating procrastination officially tomorrow (4 hours, so it's not like, "Oh the tomorrows that never come". Anyways right now I am going to start pecking at my math 4.4; 1.5 hours only.
So the plan is...
8:30-10 p.m. 4.4 math
10-12 p.m. read 4.5 (start on it) be offically over it that by 1:30 A.M.
1:30 A.M. to 3:30 reread unit 3; finish Unit 3 quiz/homeowrk
3:30 to 4:50 read 4.6, start on homework be done by 6.
5 A.M. - 5:50 A.M. sleep-wake up, take a shower.
be done by 6:20 A.M., start start rereading Unit 4 in eco stop at 6:50
7:15-740 continue reading. review eco until math class starts.
8:00-10:00 A.M work on 4.7,
10-12 A.M. do unit 4 eco homework/quiz
12-2 review eco.
2 p.m. -4:50 p.m continue working on 4.5,4.6, 4.7 review
5 p.m- 5:30 review eco
6 p.m- 9 p.m. sleep
9 p.m. start on chapter review math, until finish.
"Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is the only cash you have, so spend it wisely."
Yesterday a good friend who had been very supportive over my difficulties with the M project showed a lot of surprise that I was not finished yet.
But, behind as I am, I have no choice but to keep plugging on, and unfortunately even the mild disapproval implied by my friend has made me feel worse about it. So grateful to be among others who understand here.
I will redo my list for this week, then get straight on to 15 min work blocks on M project, using chat if needed. That worked well for me last Friday.
Kind of a lazy day so far, now I need to buckle down for a few hours:
*Clean up my bench (started)
*Make a schedule for the week
*Start geno
*Work on expts, check
*Laundry
*Go to the library
*Cook dinner for the week (lentils, sweet potatoes, green beans, poached fruit)
*sew 2 ft. of table runner boarder.
I have been not able to do much since I serverly pulled a calf muscle and have not been able to walk with out pain. I have been told to stay off of it and be patient.
I am hopeing to attened a PA meeting in NYC. It's an important meeting because we may have end it do to low Attendence and come up with an alternative plans. Or place to meet. Since I injured myself I am forced to choose only a few things to get done a day. Maybe its a lesson I was trying to do way to much to fast. So I fell down.
1. Attend PA in NYC.
2. Do research on line for redecor. apt.
The meeting was good today I hope attendance keeps up. It would be ashame if we had to close R meeting.
Thanks for the wonderful threadstarter, movingalong - wishing you the same!
So you know that party I went to last night... I have JUST got back after staying overnight. First party I've been to in a while that lasted till 5am!!! I think it's good for us to let our hair down sometimes and remember that there's more to life than working and failing to work.

Hi!
Up, walked puppy, fed puppy, ate breakfast, took meds, took caffeine pill, made 3 hour drive. Lunch, phone call, nap.
Up, not sure what to accomplish for rest of day. Maybe write in notebook a little while, and see what I feel like doing.
Have a great day, everyone! :)
