Finding a way late check in

Friday 10.41 am

Had a successful field day yesterday but it was 12 hours long including travel and now I don't feel like doing anything. Today was scheduled as a second field day, no longer necessary which is a relief. But now I have extra time I would like to use it well.

Plant ID is a high priority, but I will remake/recheck my lists first. Also would like to get some shopping and cleaning done.

Have a great day, everyone!

Steppin Check In

Had a fairly productive day, even though I'm starting to get a little sick. I had planned my day pretty well, which meant that I could cut off timewaste. I think that I have been so focused on managing my practice, that I have neglected sleeping and eating well, so I'll try to take better care of myself from now on.

What still needs to be done:

Practice nocturne

Do the dishes and clear my room a little

Go to bed no later than 11 pm!!

wrkinprogrss: 11/10/11

Today, I want to do MUCH better with job work progress than I have for the last few days. Having slept well should help.
Status: Did well with this, with help from chat room co-bursters: 6hr 15min!

If I feel bad, I want to face it constructively instead of trying to escape from it.

I need to submit three kinds of status reports at work, as well as make progress on my assignments.
Status: done and on time.

And I want to do my Qi Gong and make it to all of dance class, which I skipped last week.

I intend to abstain from web-surfing and other escape-reading and escape-listening until after dance class.
Status: Did well with this all day up through now: 18:15.

I'll let myself re-listen to bits of the Willpower book before then, if I'm exercising or doing household chores.

Here I go!

Needing to stay positive

I found out yesterday that I didn't get a job that I interviewed for a few weeks back. After telling my sister that I didn't get the job I feel much, much worse. She has that effect on people. I lie about what I'm doing some of the time to get her off my back. Even my other sister and my mother complain that she tells them what to do and cross examines them about things that are none of her business. She's brought my niece (not her daughter) to tears with her questions trying to pry into her personal life to catch her in a lie. It's none of her goddamn business!

I'm really depressed today and if I accomplish even a few things I'll be pleased.

I have no money and the wolves are at the door.

I'm interviewing for a job tomorrow that does not require any education or training. I have a master's degree. I'll take anything right now to help pay the bills!

Work for day:

- Finish editing volunteer newsletter, email blast and notice content

- Finish volunteer political work

- Call politician and some political contacts asking for their help. I feel somewhat uncomfortable doing this but they know that I've spent many, many hours helping out. If a certain person drops the ball, I'm done with him. I've spent over a thousand hours volunteering for him, I think he owes me by now.

- Call some other contacts asking for their assistance.

- Contact friend to confirm dinner on Friday. This is the last time I can have dinner with her as I can't afford it any longer.

- Try to think positively after being kicked in the head!

- Do not talk to my sister or answer her phone calls.

- Check in at the end of the day before bed. Because of my interview I'll check in around noon tomorrow.

(InnerTruth)

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Hope you find some paid work soon. Going for interviews is hard work, I know.

Thank you!

I'm going on another interview for a career-related job on Monday.

Journey 10:30

I was 30 minutes late to work today - I am really gonna do better about that.  Next week.  Yeah.   Today I'll forgive myself and move on - it's my Friday as tomorrow is a holiday for us and I've been working very very hard lately.   I've realized how tired I am as I have been so forgetful.   I have left something behind at the gym like every day and today I forgot my work shoes, so I'm dressed nicely except I'm wearing my sneakers.  Sheesh.   I've been posting my PA checkin on the wrong days all week.   I haven't been this forgetful since I had small children at home and never got any sleep.

Yesterday turned out to be quite a productive day once I got started.   I got off to a slow start but I completed a major part of horrid documentation project #1.   I have 6 documents to produce, and I finished the first one - that's the major hurdle as the other five are 'subsets' of the first one and I can do a lot of cut and paste.   I am going to try to get as many of them done as I can today.   I want this task behind me as I hate it, and it was officially overdue as of Nov. 1, although the boss understands that Big Project was a much higher priority.    When that's finished I can start on horrid documentation project #2.   At least there's no deadline for that one, although I am personally commited to finishing by the end of the year.

The good news is that I have been assigned a new project, and the kickoff meeting will occur in 30 minutes.   I'm looking forward to this one :)  It's a cool project and much lower profile that the Big Project that is in its final stages.

I am totally in long weekend mode and I don't wanna work at all, but I'll do my best.   The paperwork project is horrid and boring, but it's not really difficult, so that will be a good way to spend the afternoon.

kromer 9:30 CI

Having a hard time getting started this morning. I need to:
*Email EA
*Clean half of bench (hade some progress on this)
*Call IA
*Exercise, exercise plan
*Deacon stuff (make some progress on this)
*MH stuff
*Start Rdh10
*Check VAD x2 (did one check
*Work on clustering, working on more MK stuff
*Ask about S8 probe
*Pray

kromer 7:50 CO

Didn't make that much progress on my list today.

Partly I wasn't very productive, but I was tracking and I know that I got in 5.5 hours of focused work (2 hrs on clustering, 30 min on email, 50 min on VAD, 2 hr on Rdh10, 10 min on cleaning)...which is not that far from average for me...so I think that this was mostly a case of an over-ambitious schedule. I'll try to be more realistic next time.

READINGS FOR THE DAY

READING #1

He who has courage and faith will never perish in misery!
  —Anne Frank

Someone once said happiness is like a butterfly: if we chase it, we'll never find it. But if we sit quietly, it will come and land on us. Faith and courage are the same. All we have to do is sit quietly and ask for these gifts from God. In time, and with patience, they will be ours, and so will the happiness we can then pass on to others.

Anne Frank wrote the above words facing a concentration camp and certain death. If she could find happiness and faith and courage within herself under those circumstances, then certainly we can too. These gifts are ours, already within us, if we but look for them.

What can I ask for today?

READING #2

Plan Plans, Not Results

Understanding that we do not have the power to control the results of our plans is an important step toward accepting reality. We do make plans, based on the information, experience, and insight which we have available to us. The outcome of our plans, however, is dependent on circumstances, which are frequently beyond our control.

When we accept the fact that the results of our plans are always in the hands of our Higher Power, we can relax and leave the outcome to Him. When we do not insist compulsively that life go according to our design, we are able to avoid the inevitable frustration produced by such an unrealistic attitude. However good our intentions, our designs are always finite and based on limited knowledge. We need to trust a Power greater than ourselves.

Our idea of what is best for ourselves and those we love may not always be right, according to God's will. The faith that He will carry out His design for us, even when we do not understand it, relieves us of much anxiety and frustration.

I leave results to You.
