OK, I need to whine for a bit. Feel free to ignore the following, it just helps to vent in writing :P

I am incredibly frustrated today. Verizon was supposed to connect up my internet today, but it somehow got fouled up, so I ended up spending most of the morning on the phone with them, with no resolution as to when it will actually get connected. Now I'm at work, which is nice, but I need to figure out what to do today.

Also, guy who I've been seeing has been acting weird, and that's stressing me out. I'm kind of getting the vibe that he's not interested any more, which is fine, but kind of sad.

Also also, work has been a disaster the past couple of days...I haven't been able to get my stuff done, keep messing up experiments and am feeling directionless and incompetent.

OK, whine over.  Need to re-group.

I think a first priority is to make sure I stay sane. I've already taken a short walk on my way to work. I'm also going to have lunch with friends and pray/go to bible study.

I also need to get some work done. I'll pick relatively simple tasks:
*Check, update records, bug MK (will do this soon)
*Start committee mtg thing (will microburst this soon)
*Start genotyping
*Add jc to calendar

OK, going to lunch now. 


Journey 7:30 & updates

Checking in early because I'm being lazy and not going to the gym.   I wanted to run but it is raining so I thought I'd stay in and do the walkfit video but instead I am just sitting here.  

Yesterday was frustrating - I spent the morning getting ready for a test at 3 pm and the test didn't go well and we worked on it until almost 7 then it was too late to make the dinner I had planned, and I had to rush around to rustle up something quick.  It ended up being pretty good, chicken stir fry with veggies left over from the vegetable tray I had at the party on Sunday.  

I had a couple of hours between getting ready for the test and doing the test that I could have used to catch up on other projects but I didn't - I frittered those couple of hours away doing nothing, not even doing things I wanted to do, just goofing off.  

Now we have to do the test again today - my part actually worked fine, but another group's stuff failed because they didn't do the proper research, and I guess we should have given them a little more guidance on that, so partly our bad.  

So I'm feeling a bit tired and discouraged this morning but getting up and getting some exercise will make me feel better I am sure.   Gonna do that now!

UPDATE 10:30 I did the exercise video and then rushed off to a vet appointment that I had almost forgotten about!  Back home now and in a conference call.   I am not really involved in the subject of the conference call so I am multi-tasking and making my todo list for the day.   I never did make a real todo list yesterday, I was in reactive mode all day which probably explains why I drifted during the middle of the day . . . I need plans in order to stay focused!

The re-test is at noon, so I should be organized by then and have at least one MIT under my belt before the test starts.   GO!

UPDATE 4pm:  The re-test went great, now I have some follow-up items to do, one of which I realized I don't know how to do and can't figure it out, so I have to ask for help :(.   I've done one of three follow up items, asked for help on the second, and working on the third.   None of these follow up items was on my plan for today but that's ok.  I am getting farther and farther behind on my lower priority projects, which is also ok, but at some point I am going to have to catch up, and I thought I would be doing it this week but it ain't workin' out that way.
