Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
I'm disappointed and dissatisfied with myself today. I am behind on several projects and am leaving town today for a few days to visit relatives with my kids, so I'm not likely to get caught up any, or even keep from falling further behind. The main reason I'm behind is that I've failed to stick to business. Instead of working on paying work, I've gotten distracted wtih online political forums and neglected my assignments. Now I have to explain the situation to some editors and hope they'll be forgiving.
Oh, well. I guess it's hard to be perfect. I'm doing better than I was before coming to Procrastinators Anonymous and the daily check-in thread, that's for sure, even if there is still room for improvement. I'll try to do the best I can to get some work done while on vacation, plan to get caught up next week and also just cut myself some slack. Although my main goal these days is to make money and stop getting further in debt, my mother and children are important too. The kids are growing up and my mom won't be around forever. I'll try to enjoy this time with them. The work will (probably) be here when I get back. If not, I'll (probably) be able to find new clients. Sheesh. Anyway...
Using various bookending tools, grateful for PA, this has been my anchor of "reliabilty" - when all else fails, I can "show up" here when on thin ice and entertaining thoughts of shutting down for awhile. (aka "just this once" ) .Thanks for being here. Next do what works, showing up is the key that opens the door. I have not "shut down" for over 2 years now, and that is a miracle, because of PA (ers).
"Fulfilment. It's less about the pursuit of happiness and more about the happiness of pursuit"
Good morning! I'm early today, working from home, and getting computer booted and ready to go before I go for a walk. Back later
Update 9:30 ok I was off to a really good start and now I'm stalling out. I've exercised, I'm cleaned up, dressed and fed, I read my email, and now I'm sitting here doing nothing. Off to finish up todo list.
