More beautiful flowers--thanks, again, Rosebud!

Yesterday didn't go as well as I had hoped. I think I may have put too many things on my to-do list. Can I improve upon that, today?

Today:

To cultivate recovery motivation, I will:

  • Post this at Procrastinators Anonymous
  • Post at SR
  • Check my balance mindmap (wip)

To improve my personal integrity and deal with personal life logistics, I will:

  •  Pay rent!
  • Do at least 4.5 hours of job work, including the following tasks:
    •  Work with team members to create release notes
    • Make progress toward filing a bug on one of the big categories of leftovers
  • Load and run dishwasher (wip)
  • Cook rice and artichokes
  • Put at least 10 minutes toward washing up stuff in kitchen sink
  • Make visible progress toward getting kitchen counters into reasonable order

To maintain or improve my physical and emotional health, I will:

  • Use the Balancer
  • Do at least 15 minutes of Qi Gong
  • Choose between refraining from reading after 22:00, and doing some journaling about why I've been reading so much, as a positive step towards getting to bed at a more reasonable hour (preferably before midnight)

To improve my overall time use, I will:

  • Postpone recreational computer & internet use and recreational print reading until after at least 4.5 hours of job work and at least 10 minutes of work on kitchen sink stuff (not doing well on this one)
  • Allow the computer to shut itself off at 22:00, if it's on at that time

For EXTRA CREDIT, I may also be glad to:

  • Buy vegetables for next batch of soup
  • Review balance mind-map notes for info about ways I might motivate myself to go to bed earlier
  • Do a Burns Mood Log exercise or another recovery exercise
  • Make progress on one or more of the other job work items that are due this week:
    • Order new hardware, get ETA, and inform manager
    • List next round of features on designated wiki
  • Further catch up my cell phone calendar
  • Research &/or sign up for new neighborhood email list
  • Research/think re R's Elements offer
  • Watch part of a DVD

Good luck with your day, everyone!

InnerTruth - checking in

I had a very unproductive long weekend and am checking in now after wasting the entire morning.

Yesterday I worked on a volunteer newsletter that was way way overdue and did not make as much progress as I would have liked. Instead of saying I will do it all in 4 or 5 hours or so, I should break it down into chunks and assign tasks to the time chunks. So her it is:

noon to 1:30 pm - Newsletter - Write cold calling article

1:30 pm - 2:00 pm - lunch, call Dr, campaign office, and MB

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - bank and errands

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Newsletter - Revise conference article

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Newsletter - Revise column

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm - travel time to appointment

6:30 pm - reception or campaign

9:30 pm - arrive home and wash load of dishes

10:00 pm - 11:00 - Newsletter - Test links and HTML coding

Journey noon

Late checkin - took all morning to get caught up and organized with work email and todo lists since I was sick last week and let everything go except for the critical.   But now I am all organized again and ready to start chipping away at the todo list.

First, requirements for new project are due and this is my first and most important task for today.

Later!

Don't get fooled by my pictures. I always try to shoot from an angle where all the weeds and general disorder don't show ....

haha Rosebud

And I thought I was the only one that did that!
