My home. OMG. I've been a slob this week....Probably the only way out is a Timer situation. I have three hours before me to use thoughtfully. It would be nice to clear a path through this swathe.
UPDATE 8pm So I did.
12 15 minute bursts on the timer. Starting promptly at 3pm
X kitchen sink to white
X tub and sink and bathroom floor
X most of couch stuff, folded and put away
X living room swept and vacuumed
_ still need shelves put back together and dusted
X plants watered
X desk organized and stuff ready for working on the cover first thing in the morning
X I can brew some tea at 5pm.
Tomorrow I need to sit in a neat living room at the desk and finish that file so that on Monday it's only about going into the office in the afternoon, with all my work clothes lined up for the week and my new file in my hand, ready for final edits from other people.
The thing that's not on my list but should be is cutting and pasting all new text into the companion site. I'm in denial. I should do that tomorrow and Mon morning after the cover is done.
I'm deciding that Tuesday at 3PM is my last day for getting to the printer
Monday morning for emails and calls for delivery numbers
X birthday present wrapped and card for TF
Gogogogogogogo! (said somewhat half-heartedly)
Thanks, PA'rs for being here! I'll be back in two hours with an update. That's 5pm tea time.
To improve my personal integrity and deal with personal life logistics, I will:
Clear the kitchen floor of all objects I wouldn't want my landlord or the water heater repairman to see there (much accumulated clutter and stalled projects) (MADE MAJOR PROGRESS ON THIS BUT DIDN'T FINISH)
Buy some food (preferably including bread or equivalent)
Mail utility tax payment
Do a load of laundry (delicate cycle)
To maintain or improve my physical and emotional health, I will:
Use the Balancer
Do 15 minutes of Qi Gong
To improve my overall time use, I will:
Postpone recreational computer & internet use and recreational print reading until after the kitchen floor-clearing task is done (Found myself interspersing bursts of work on this with print reading rewards--would probably have worked better if I'd had one or two small print rewards waiting, as I eventually started a book and finished it, rather than finishing the task, even though I knew it was risky.)
Allow the computer to shut itself off at 22:00, if it's on at that time(it wasn't on--I was reading print, instead)
QUALIFIED SUCCESS: Spend a little time brainstorming possible alternate ways to encourage myself to go to bed earlier(did this Sunday morning, rather than Saturday)
For EXTRA CREDIT, I may also be glad to:
Research 8/1 personal email system changes
Do a Burns Mood Log exercise or another recovery exercise
Cook artichokes (Q: are they still good?) (checked: yes)
Further catch up my cell phone calendar
Research &/or sign up for new neighborhood email list
Yesterday I used this place (although I posted a bit wrong--had my own thread) to post my tasks and some goals for the day--not a "perfect" systema, and I didn't totally live up to my goals, but I did so much better with this tool and resource as a guide and structure,. I think it may be part of my magic bullet, for now, anyway.
Still so behind in work that I am very anxious, and need to figure out how to approach it.
For now:
go to farmers' market
pick up mail (walk)
go to gallery--talk to Ed (walk)
clean up room for 30 mins
12:30 PA mtg.
call Bruce re: Salesforce (maybe after PA online mtg.)
work on reports--break it down later 5 hours or more
I'm feeling really behind today. Here's a long list of tasks, bold are priorities
I'd say that one big task is to work on EA's project:
*Make sure list of top genes is good
*Try list of top genes by alt. method and see how similar
*Make sure list of P6 is good, new stats (working on this now)
*Double-check error bar stuff and write up.
*Double-check p.p. timecourse processing, new stats (working on this now)
*Double-check sorted processing, new stats (working on this now)
*Email new stats (will do this soon)
*Rough methods section and email
Another big tasks is organization:
*Organize fridges
*Update records (will do this soon)
*Get together apt. app stuff
*Email CT about lunch
*Add mtgs to calendar (will do this soon)
And I need to do some maintenance stuff:
*Check expts
*Plugs
Done:
Woke and tired beyond belief - it is an emotional tiredness related to some big decisions earlier in the week
Prayed and reflected
Checked and dealt with email
Post arrived and read decision of complaint I have made and somehow feel relieved that the matter is ended - though I do need to write back
Phoned friend for general chat and to discuss our meeting Sunday week
Washed kitchen floor
Todo:
Sort out papers from friend's visit last evening, file and put letters ready to post
Clean the bathroom (a massive job) and have a bath and wash hair
Wash up
Write journal
More CBT work on anxiety and behaviour
Rest - I do think I need rest and that it is not idleness or putting things off
