Friday 29th July 2011

Wecome to Friday the last day of the working week

Time to get things done and finished before the weekend

Finding a way check in - will be away for 2 weeks +

Saturday 9.55 am

Thanks for the starter Rexroth.

Busy today packing and getting ready to go away for 2+ weeks on camping trip to inland desert areas - this is a holiday with my husband that we've been planning for a while.

My lists are all made and I am working through them Smile. Seems like lots of work now but starting to get excited. Sometimes being a procrastinator it is hard to feel that I deserve a holiday.

So probably will not have internet or be logging on here for the whole time we are away - most areas are fairly remote.

All the very best to everyone with whatever you are working on.

See you when I get back!

wrkinprogrss: Today

Today:

To cultivate recovery motivation, I will:

  • Post at SMART Recovery
  • Post this at Procrastinators Anonymous
  • Check my balance mind-map (good enough)

To improve my personal integrity and job performance, I will:

  • Do at least 4.33 hours of job work, including filing at least 2 multi-part bugs
  • Make progress on at least 2 of the other job work items that are due within the next week:
    • Change PIN
    • Work with teams to create release notes (enough for today)
    • Send manager feedback about proposed objectives
    • Order new hardware, get ETA, and inform manager
    • List next round of features on designated wiki

To deal with personal life logistics, I will:

  • Do a load of laundry (delicate cycle) (postponed: OK)
  • Do at least 5 mini-to-micro steps toward dealing with water heater leak (I made progress on this but wouldn't say it was the equivalent of 5 mini-steps--more like 2)

To maintain or improve my physical and emotional health, I will:

  • Use the Balancer
  • Do 15 minutes of Qi Gong
  • Take bedtime Rx

To improve my overall time use, I will:

  • Postpone recreational computer & internet use until after doing:
    • At least 4.33 hrs of job work
    • At least 5 water heater mini-to-micro steps (kind of weaseled on this--snuck in some arguably not-quite-recreational internet use between various tasks. Total amount was arguably moderate. Refrained from reading fiction online due to not finishing the prerequisites to my own satisfaction)
  • Start to move towards bed at 22:00 --no computer, audio, or recreational reading after this time (nope: computer off on time, but lots of late audio; not sure about print reading)

For EXTRA CREDIT, I may also be glad to:

  • Mail utility tax payment
  • Do a Burns Mood Log exercise or another recovery exercise
  • Eat fresh stone fruit
  • Cook artichokes (Q: are they still good?)
  • Further catch up my cell phone calendar
  • Research 8/1 personal email system changes
  • Research &/or sign up for new neighborhood email list
  • Research/think re R's Elements offer
  • Schedule mammogram appointment
  • Watch part of a DVD

Good luck with your day, everyone--thanks for being here and making this kind of threading possible!

Bookending

I'd say I overscheduled today. I got two articles written start to finish, which is a pretty decent day. But I didn't get as much don on other stuff. I got distracted with posting to online discussion threads -- my current maladaptive behavior. But, all things considered, if I did this well every day, at least as far as completing billable projects, I'd be okay. In any event, I've done enough for today and am going to kick back.

Journey 9 am

Finally getting over my cold and working from home today.  I've been doing the minimum for the past couple of days and I'm tempted to try to 'catch up' today but I know better.   I will plan a moderately busy day with rest breaks, and do only the most high priority items, letting the rest slide.
