Tuesday 24th May 2011

Welcome to Tuesday

How I spend my day is how I spend my life.

How I act determines how I feel.

What I work on changes.

Journey 7:30 Vay-Cay!

I'm on vacation . . .today is my daughter's 27th bday, how did this happen?  I feel like *I* should still be 27 lol.

Have a great week.  Yesterday and today are just fun days for me, but  I will be checking in beginning tomorrow because I'm going to be cleaning out the kitchen cabinets after getting rid of a little mice infestation.  I tried to catch them with humane traps but I gave up and finally just put out poison.  Now the little melon farmers are gone.

Lighter day

Having a less hectic day, but that brings its own hazards; namely, opportunities to procrastinate. Trying to stay on an even keel.

Goal 1: Keep going, in 15 minute increments, promptly tracking how I spend each block. I feel myself looking for distractions. I don't have to do brilliant work, I just have to persevere and get it done well enough. Trying to be brilliant increases my performance anxiety and keeps me from being productive.

Goal 2: If I get through today's work, smoothly segue into the overdue work that always holds me down. More of the same medicine: it doesn't have to be brilliant, or extra-brilliant to 'make up for' being late. It just has to get done, properly and competently. I can do that, if I let myself.

Goal 3: Leave at 8:30 PM, with no regrets.

Back to report.

Trying to be brilliant keeps me from being productive

Indeed!

Hypatia's check-in at 4.30pm

Only just got free of meetings and appointments to sit down at my desk.  The last thing I feel like is writing reports.

Show up (done) TGIT!

Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to
sanity.

.....The second step puts us on track - a new track - a course that
holds more power and direction than we have on our own. It is the transition
step. It takes us from where we are to where we want to go. All we are asked
now is to believe. We do that by opening our minds and hearts and connecting
with other recovering people....

-Melody Beattie-

Thank you PA(ers) for helping me believe
