I don't understand how 'the opposite of low self-esteem is humilty'???

Isn't the opposite to low self-esteem -- high self-esteem?

And doesn't humility mean recognising your limitations?

Thanks for the starter, Sal (and your response to my post last week).

I have not had a good start today, did not sleep well and felt ill. Feeling better now, but wasting lots of time.

Have dealt with a couple of minor things, need to get onto job application. Time for the chat box!

Thank you all for this forum.

fudoshin: day 85: 2pm

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

This is the 85th day that I have followed through with the following:

  • 90 days away from dating sites and facebook
  • 90 days of not stalking people's profiles of people I've tried to date in the past
  • 90 days of not stalking people online that I've tried to date in
the past. (I am now back on day 48 for this).
  • No Internet chat, aside from employment or twelve-step.  This
includes not stalking people on AIM or other chat networks, whom I've
tried to date in the past. (I'm on day 13
    of this.)
  • 56 days of exercise: on day 3 of this.

Stubborn Start....Now dissolving

Got up this morning meditated and reflected..

Realize...I was experiencing resistance this morning, based on well meaning conversation I had with colleague yesterday...in which I was encouraged for the writing I had done...and was being told to make sure I wrote this morning....I haven't....and I need to go to work now....but I'm glad I'm aware of it and will give myself permission to not write this morning..and let it go.

On the other hand, I wrote a list of things I want to do today...and will attempt to do some of them after work today:

Quick clean-up

Laundry

drink more water

e-mail S

get uw and sh

pick up check

perhaps do a little writing in evening

Thanks for the support everyone!

Congrats ((hope))!

You broke your record!

Keep going!

Meeting with the third business coach today. Hoping to trade writing for advice, which will help me make better choices about how to spend my energy and time. Journey 9:30

Thanks for starting us out Sal! I'm with Rex, I'm up but I ain't shinin'. I'm 'on call' this week, it began at midnight and I got called at 1 am *sigh*. I slept in but I'm tired and I didn't go to the gym. I need to plan a way to get some exercise into the schedule later today. I'm grumpy if I don't start my day at the gym, and I guess that's a good thing.

I have a seriously critical conference call at 10:00 so after the call I'll make the old todo list. Wish me luck on the call, I HATE confrontation and this will be an uncomfortable call and I'll have to stand up for my team and push back on this other team.

Sal, I <3 the pretty colors!

So last night there were *extremely* dangerous sounding winds and the internet wouldn't work. Not sure if it's harder to get on the 30th floor or what, but I am annoyed that I am behind through no fault of my own. I did get all the "non-internet" things done I suppose, as well as some of my bio assignment (due today at 5). I wanted to make cookies today, but I'm not sure I will have time now!

Things to do today-

#1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #8 #9
-Finish Bio reading
-Bio writing assignment
-Start (finish?!) math assignment from friday
-Start (finish?!) math assignment from monday
-Email Brooke
-Review cobwebbing in textbook (ok one non internet thing i forgot)
-Draw up a plan for the week. Maybe post it on here?
-Clean parts
-Pick hockey match-ups
-Relax time with bff

Game plan for week-
Wed- 1 bio article, 1 quant subset, w2w's hw, NHL gamecenter!
Thurs- another bio article, 2 quant subset, w3w's hw
Fri- 3rd bio article, 2 quant subset, w2f's
Sat- 4th bio article, 2 quant subset, w2m's hw
Sun/Mon- bio writing, quant quiz, w3f's hw

Hypatia's check-in

Really liked reading this "sometimes, when i actually start doing things that i've put off, i just need to pretend that i'm doing them when they were supposed to happen."

I've been catching up on some hw and this really helps! Removes the focus from that lateness and refocuses on getting it done "on time".

Good luck with you tasks! :)

:P

nothing like fooling yourself into work.  i can't wait until i can just do it without all the extra.

i've been working around some issues today but i've been working and not surfing around issues to that's better than nothing.
